Time to replace old Kitchen range hood vent

in #hive-1896412 years ago

Old man chu back again . Today we are taking out a range hood vent to replace it with a new one. The old one has been there for more than 50 years. You can see the vent there. As you can see in the video there is a lot of dirt and grease there. I hooked it all up. I have to go to work now vacation time is over. Live and thriving people. Old man chu always has something to do. I installed it by myself because I had no camera crew to help me. The fan and the light all worked fine. Another job accomplished. Job well done. Hi @old-man-chu58, as a 67 yr old veteran with PTSD issues (meaning I don't have many friends who are able and willing to come help me) I end up doing nearly everything by myself, or paying someone to come do it.
Those things I start, usually take me a while to complete, but I usually plug along.

In 2020 I bought a (then) 80 yr old farm house with 1.6 acres,

and there are chores and things needing done aplenty, so much so that I tend to walk around looking, thinking "I need to do this, but then I need to till the garden, but I also need to clean the house, but I also need to get started on the garage workshop" etc etc... in short, I'm overwhelmed and often don't do much at all.

Hello friend you are a busy man and you land is really big. I hope you PTSD gets better. Being active can help you, I do understand how you feel overwhelmed by all the chores you have to do. I try to help everyone I can, in this video I was helping my brother replace the range hood. Even though it looked easy on the video it took us like 10 hours. We are getting older by the day. It was hard for him to hold the vent while I was trying to screw it in LOL. He has bad knees. We had to call his son for help. I'm retired and I got to keep myself busy and motivated.

What I do to get thing done is I write a list of everything down that I have to do and then start completing every task one by one putting a check mark. That way I keep motivated and know what I accomplished and what there still to do.

I'm located in Chicago where are you from?

I lived just outside of atlanta georgia
