Hello hivers friends.

Today I want to share something I've been doing these days, because I've always liked belt style corsets and of course I've always wanted one (it didn't have to be bought specifically). But in my country it is a little difficult to find this kind of things and making them on demand is even more difficult, so my only solution would be to make it myself. For this I had two options to do it with fabrics in a sewing machine or crochet (the latter was valid for about a month😅 which is how long I have been learning crochet). In the end I decided on crochet because I really like the handmade style that manual knitting leaves (although it may later encourage me to do it on a sewing machine).

The truth is, those two options didn't make it easy for me either 😅 but with the best of energies I devoted a whole week to creating my belt-style corsets.

Materials

🧶Yarn
🧶Needle
🧶Scissors

Process

I started by making chain stitches and measuring on me so that I fit right to my size.

When I had already verified that it fit me well, without adjusting so much but also that it was not very loose, then I started lifting the fabric using the varette stitch.

And so I was lifting the fabric with the varette stitch about 7 turns from end to end.

After giving it the width I wanted, I made simple fan stitches at the ends to make it like the buttonhole where the tie was going to go.

Once like this so as not to cut the thread I made a satin stitch until I reached the other end and make the buttonholes with simple fan stitches. And so it remained.

Already here it was almost ready, only the tie was missing, which I made only with chain stitch and knotted well at the end so that it would not come loose.

In the process I was very nervous because I thought the yarn was not going to reach me for this😅 but to my surprise I had enough yarn left over and I say this because crochet takes a lot of yarn (I only had a 50 gram ball of yarn).

Also tell them that it's OKAY if they know how to do the basic points, here I leave a little explanation in photos.

Well to tell you that I'm more than happy to finally have my belt style corsets 🥺 and I don't know if it's just me, but I think we like the things we do ourselves more than buying them😅. If you made it this far thanks so much for reading. I hope you like it and see you in the next post ❤️.

Hola amigos hivers.

Sort:

It's amazing how learning a new skill can be so useful. In your case, thanks to your sewing skills you can create garments to your own taste and shape.

Yes, I really like to learn new things 😁. One is impressed after he sees what you can do yourself

Muy lindo y original.
La cara del perrito. Jeje
Que lindo!

Gracias jjj el perrito estaba dando ayuda emocional 😁

👍 looks nice!

Thanks 😊

That’s one thing I like about crocheting,
If you can’t get something, you make it yourself.
Great work.

Yeah, it's great. Thank you 😊

You’re welcome

Looks quite elegant, and since it's yarn, it means it would be comfortable and adjustable.

Yes, it's quite comfortable and light, which I really liked because it doesn't squeeze my abdomen too much
