Hello Hive
Recently I have talked about how I have worked on a mother and daughter outfits for the upcoming children graduation ceremony but since it is a moment to party and celebrate I have decided on following them to the event. It won't be fair for a seamstress to look odd if you will agree with me and since the color choosing for the day is orange I decided to workout a simple orange dress for myself.
You can make a simple dress but with a little touch to make it classy.
While I have started this work last week I got too exhausted from several farm work and had to take a long rest since Monday morning.
Today I am back to the sewing machine since these outfits must be ready for the weekend.
A bustier dress with a double layer front flair using my measurements.
The African print was only one yard
I had to purchase some Satin fabric to have enough fabrics for my outfits.
Started with making patterns on paper which I transfered to my African print fabric.
Front block here.
The lower bodice cut from satin.
Sewing the bodice and lining together.
In order to have a neat finishing and well sitting outfit for my designs I often add hairstay, paper stay and paddings for the upper bodice. And not forgetting to iron out my seam lines open.
This makes all the seam line flat and not puffing out.
Well like I said I made a very simple dress but to make this a bit classes and party like I added a double layer flair to the waist line.
And just like that I have a lovely orange outfit.
In all I only spent $5 for my outfits, the satin was sold for a dollar and the Ankara fabrics was bought for $3 and the zippers and other accessories.
Adding this tells you that with just few dollars you can make some lovely outfits for yourself.
And of course its parry time.
And to conclude this don't be surprise if I start adding beads and pearls to my outfits I just want some little glitters on the dress and might show us how to do that if I eventually did.
Thanks for stopping by.
