A big greeting to the community, hoping you are well as always in good health and enjoying your day. Today I want to share with you a simple work of arrangement of a garment, like this dress.
How to change the design of a dress in the skirt part. Many times we have a piece of clothing that maybe we don't wear anymore, but it still looks great, since the fabric is not worn out.
At least this dress of a friend, who wanted me to change the bottom, first because she was going to a meeting, and did not want it too short, plus the opening that had in the front wanted to close it a little.
Un gran saludo a la comunidad, esperando se encuentren muy bien como siempre en buena salud y disfrutando su día. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un trabajo sencillo de arreglo de una prenda de vestir, como este vestido.
Como cambiar el diseño de un vestido en la parte de la falda. Muchas veces tenemos alguna prenda de ropa que quizás ya no usamos, pero que todavía se ve muy bien, ya que no esta desgastada la tela.
Por lo menos este vestido de una amiga, que quiso que le cambiara la parte de abajo, primero porque iba a una reunión, y no lo quería muy corto, además la abertura que tenia en la parte delantera quería cerrarla un poco.
The skirt had a straight cut and the opening was also straight.
What I did was to unpick the hem and make a wave cut where the skirt opening was.
My materials:
Dress to fix.
Black fabric scraps.
Measuring tape, pins, thread, sewing machine.
Buscando entre mis retazos de tela conseguí una parecida, en cuanto al estilo, solo que este retazo tiene un poco mas de brillo, pero que sirve para hacer que la falda se vea mas larga.
Por lo que decidí hacerle un fleco un poco ancho como de 15cm de largo, y un poco arruchada, o mas bien unos pliegues.
La falda tenia un corte recto y su abertura también toda recta.
Lo que hice fue descoser el ruedo y hacer un corte de onda en donde estaba la abertura de la falda.
Mis materiales:
Vestido para arreglar.
Retazos de tela negra.
Cinta metrica, alfileres, hilo, maquina de coser.
The first thing I did was to unpick the entire hem and the part of its opening, cutting in a semicircle, where the opening was; and then cut a wide strip that I took out of the piece of black fabric, covering the entire width of the skirt.
Lo primero que hice fue descoser todo el ruedo y la parte de su abertura, cortando en forma de semicírculo, donde estaba la abertura; para luego cortar una tira ancha que saque del retazo de tela negra, que cubra toda la parte del ancho de la falda.
I sewed some folds to this strip on the machine so that I could place it on the edge of the skirt with the help of the pins, so I can measure how far it goes.
A esta tira le hice unos pliegos cosiéndola en la maquina para poder colocarla en el borde de la falda con la ayuda de los alfileres, asi mido hasta donde llega.
After sewing this strip to the machine, I zig-zagged it along its edge, and made an over seam to settle the fabric a little, so that it doesn't look lifted.
Finally, I made a fine hem to this faralao, to be able to finish this simple work, but that you can see the difference, and so I can continue using it, when my friend wants.
Después de coser a la maquina esta tira, le pase su zig-zag, por su orilla, e hice una sobre costura para asentar un poco la tela, y no se vea levantada.
Por ultimo le hice un ruedo finito a este faralao, para poder culminar este trabajo sencillo, pero que se le nota la diferencia, y asi poder seguir usándolo, cuando mi amiga quiera.
