Evening all
Time for another update on the Hive Woodpeckers group
The paint finally dried on the pumpkin we made in the workshop.
Honestly it took a few days for it to dry due to the cold weather that hit us. The workshop currently doesn't have permanent heating so it's pretty damn cold in there.
Boom, here is the finished beauty!
And Finally here is the finished product in the ground ready for halloween.
I tried to make it look good for the photos but my garden isn't the best at the moment due to having removed all the dying plants due to the weather.
But here it is, I added the gonk as he felt a bit halloweeny too 😅
The orange is actually left over emulsion we had from a previous painting job I did. It's really bright and took to the wood so well with only 3 coats. Really good quality paint this stuff.
The black is acrylic paint which again took to the surface so well.
Then 3 coats of yacht varnish was applied all over. This stuff is bloody amazing quality, expensive as hell, but a really good buy if you want to protect external wood. It's used on boats etc so it's top quality and has a great satin finish. You don't want too shiny for this kind of build so the satin finish was perfect.
New updated buy list so far is as follows:
Nothing is on the list yet.
Newest additions to the workshop
No new additions either. Funding is limiting any new buys with Christmas coming.
Other bits
The bandsaw is still broken. It seems to be missing a guide that I didn't notice was missing when I bought it.
This is an issue when buying second hand equipment, you don't always know exactly what you are getting unfortunately.
If anyone has any funding ideas please let me know, we are really lacking equipment and materials now so any help you can provide I appreciate.
A big thanks to @bitcoinman who's been a great help and also @stickupcurator, @brosonleo and @raymondspeaks for being awesome and helping support me through this project so far.

I want to say a massive thankyou to everyone who has supported us so far, from words of encouragement to upvotes. You are helping change kids lives and it is an amazing thing to be a part of.
