DIYBEE Contest; Meet the BEE family.

in #hive-189641last year

So today, I decided to kick procrastination out of my life regarding doing my second DIY post. I do visit the community to engage and learn from people's creativity but I haven't posted in a very long time. After seeing Wongi's post about the bee contest, I decided to give it a try.

I haven't encountered a bee before but I have heard many unpleasant stories about them, the closest I have been to a bee is seeing a dead one when we purchase a bottle of honey My mom always shared her experience about them when she was a teenager, they were so scary and I don't wish for my enemies to experience a bee attack.

When I was younger, I always wondered why an insect that provides us with honey is wicked. I thought since they give us something so sweet, they should be sweet insects as well instead of chasing and stinging but despite everything, I think only people who have experienced the attack will dislike the insect. Everything about them is perfect and they are so organized even more than some humans.

For my entry to the contest, I decided to make a bee craft as well. I assisted my little brother many years back with an assignment of such and I still remember how we came up with a beautiful bee.

Material needed.

  • Yellow cardboard
  • White paper
  • Paper gum
  • Carton

  • Hair dye
  • Small painting brush

Procedure

  • *I started by cutting out the Love shape I needed to make the bee and to avoid wasting my cardboard, I cut the shapes first with the carton

  • After getting the shapes, I traced them on the cardboard.

  • I cut the shapes out but bigger than what I traced and after cutting everything out, I trimmed everything together to make sure they were equal.

  • Since the main shapes have been sorted out, I cut out the other shapes needed but without cutting the carton first because they were very easy.

  • I needed a black love shape so I applied my mom's leftover dye on some of the love shapes I cut out. I applied the dye twice before achieving the desired colour and I put them in my window to dry.

  • While waiting for it to get dried, I decided to give my paper background a small touch. It wasn't part of the plan but I felt it would be cool.

  • By the time I was through, the dyed shapes had dried.

  • I have everything ready so it is time to gum all the shapes on the white paper that I drew on earlier. I started with the bottom part of the bee to the top.

  • After the bodies of the adult bees were in order, I attached the antenna and tail

  • I repeated the process for the baby bees as well.

  • Everything looks good, right? I moved on to the eyes and mouth.

  • And finally, the wings so that can fly out of the paper into the woods

I enjoyed doing this and it was really fun for me. As you can see, I made use of the love shape mostly and that tells how lovely the bee family is so don't hesitate to hug them and you can kiss them, they don't sting.

If they sting, I will take responsibility.

You made bee using heart shape. I never made that kind of thing maybe it's because I wasn't interested in that kind of work. Now I learned it and I will make it someday.
