Greetings to the entire community.

This is my entry to the contest proposed by in the DIYHub community for this month's Luna theme

Materials

  1. Indelible markers

  2. Acetate

  3. Sheet or dark card stock preferably black

The process

  • The first thing to do is to measure the size of the project you want to develop, and with it the elements you want to attach. For example, for my project, the moon, the wolf, the ground and the stars, I could fit them in the middle of a sheet of acetate. I got the sketches that I liked and I put them on a clean sheet with the idea that I wanted.

  • Already knowing what colors you are going to use. We proceed to fix the acetate sheet on the drawing sketch that was made on a white sheet and we start to trace the drawing on the acetate and color it. Note that I emphasize that you must know what colors you are going to use because this is indelible ink and cannot be removed, unless you use alcohol, but it is possible to stain the sheet. If you use markers that are not permanent, every time you rose the acetate with the skin these colors will be erased or stain the project.

  • Having our drawings on the acetate, we can place this sheet on a sheet or a dark cardboard (preferably black) and we will observe that our entire project remains almost hidden from our eyes.

  • Now, we need a new sketch that allows us to highlight the drawings that we made on the acetate and that now disappeared because of the black sheet that we placed in the background. To do this, I designed a moon-shaped sketch that reflects the light and this light is concealed by the white sheet itself, which when it passes behind the acetate will highlight each drawing made. This is the most important part of the project, because without it nothing can be seen.

This work came from an old acetate folder that I had saved. These folders, used to be used to present a work in school and to keep the work from sliding out of the folder, they used to use a plastic fastener that slid to secure all the sheets.

This binder I cut up and adapted it for the project. But, before I got hands-on and scratched it with the indelible markers, I used the plastic ones that usually come with the phones and prevent scratches. I will be sharing the images in the comments.

The project is very easy to replicate and almost all these materials are within our reach, some of them are materials that we use at school. Although for this occasion, the theme was the moon. It can be applied to any concept. For example, letters with hidden messages, for Valentine's Day, for Christmas, a birthday....

I thank the DIYHub community for this opportunity with this contest, not only allowed me to return to design with my hands, but in general for the whole process learned to create and edit the video.

This is the whole project. I hope you enjoyed it and even more, I hope you put it into practice. see you!
