It is a pleasure to participate in this month's contest: DIYHUB CONTEST - SEA LIFE, my idea was to make a marine animal that was associated with Hive blog and Ecency, such as a dolphin or a whale, so I started to observe different marine species, in the end I decided to make a killer whale, because I think it is a magnificent creature and has a combination of colors that stand out. For this reason, I have tried to make my work three-dimensional and shaded.
Materials.
To make this creation I used paints, 2 sheets of paper, glue and some recyclable materials, such as sponges to spread the paint and disposable paper, thus giving a second use to these materials.
Elaboration Process.
- The first step was to find or make a Killer Whale, so I drew it in a cartoonish way; later I will show the following steps, since I had to make the background.
Step 2: Background.
- To make the background I used the blue paint, so I was blurring it with the sponge, specifically I made rounded strokes to resemble the waves.
- I also combined the blue and white paints to have another tone and make the sky, besides that I made the sun using crayons.
Step 3: Color the sketch.
- Now let's improve the Killer Whale, first go over the strokes with black crayon, then I used a brush to add the black and white paint.
- After the paint had dried, I cut the drawing of the Killer Whale, since I was going to glue a paper accordion to it, so that the drawing would stand out and more dimensions would be seen.
Final presentation.
Finally, I added a boat in the background, in this case I also added a paper accordion, besides that I placed it on the wall, and you could see the shading generated by the Killer Whale.
No doubt it was fun and exciting to participate in the contest, certainly sea creatures are mysterious beings and, it is also curious and striking that some aquatic animal names are used in the world of cryptocurrencies and especially in Hive Blog, whether the word fish, dolphin, whale or others, as they have a great meaning or symbolism.
- I invite to participate: @meivys ando @wensports --> DIYHUB CONTEST - SEA LIFE
