Update:
Of course my wife was right. I added gas in the tank and off it went and away I go.
My logical thinking was that gas is expensive nowadays, I'll only put a bit in. Else, if I can't get it running, I'll have good gas wasting in a dead tank. Logical, right?
Only thing is...compression...it takes a certain amount to move the fuel from the tank into the fuel lines and into the carburetor. The larger the empty space in the fuel tank, the harder it is to move the fuel. (By the way, this is why you should fill your car's tank when it get to a 1/4 full or lower. At those low levels, your fuel pump must work overtime to keep the fuel pressure up to keep gas going into the carb. I had a fuel pump go out on an SUV. Not good. Two options: lower the gas tank to get inside to access the fuel pump - scary; or cut through the floorboard to get access from the top into the fuel tank. I did this, it worked, but it's a hassle.)
Anyway, I now need to adjust that setting #3 on the carb because I'd messed with it earlier and, though it's running, it doesn't sound completely right. You see why I take notes for myself? Glad I found that scan above.
I can be so dumb.
