Making cute toys is a new thing that is a challenge in itself. It looks very easy, but it turns out to be quite difficult for me who is not very skilled hahaha.
This time I want to make a piggy bank from used materials. and who would have thought that used drink bottles could be cute and adorable crafts.
Armed with ingredients that are only available at home, I will try to make a cute piggy bank.
Yes, of course I need used drink bottles and some supporting materials that are in my house. such as, :
- Knife
- Scissors
- Glue Gun
- Paper Glue
- Origami
- Matches
First of all I want to cut the middle part of the bottle, so that the bottle resembles a pig's body.
Make a line on the side that will be cut. It makes it easier for us to make the cut symmetrical.
After that, cut the bottle using a knife
After the bottle is divided into 2. prepare a lighter. You can also use a candle.
Then connect the head of the bottle with the body of the bottle as shown in the picture. I did not use glue or adhesive. I used a lighter as I said earlier.
I burned the remaining part of the body of the bottle. During the burning process, the part of the bottle that is exposed to the fire will shrink so that the head of the bottle and the body of the bottle become tight without the help of glue.
Then I move on to the legs.
Now for the legs, I use small wooden sticks. so that the Pig shape can stand on the wooden legs that I made.
cut small pieces of wood, according to the height we will make. I made the same size, about 2 cm long. and I cut it into 4 legs.
After the wood is cut to the same length. then apply hot glue on each side. and place it according to the pig's feet.
Set aside the body that has been formed. Then I switched to making ears. Here I use another bottle.
then cut using scissors. Until the shape of the ears that we will attach is visible. I made 2 ears
Then, attach the cut ears using hot glue.
then I added a little flower shape that will be the tail. because I don't have wire. So I will use wood that I broke a little.
I also dyed the pig ears a little yellow and For the bottle cap part, I replaced it with yellow origami. Well, later I will draw this part for the nose.
After all the parts are installed. draw the Eyes to complete the pig's body.
Oh yeah, don't forget the top hole to insert coins.
And finally my piggy bank is ready to be filled with coins.
