Hello everyone
Greetings to you all in this great community #diyhub, and hive at large, it's my pleasure to make this beautiful outfit for my little friend and to share it with the process with you all.
This is so unbelievable at first that I could make this outfit, but just trying out what I could make from the left over lace I used to make an off shoulder princess dart bustier for my friend, I decided to make an outfit for her daughter as well, with my little calculation, I was able to manage the left over into something simple and nice for my friend Victoria.
This lace fabric was initially an outfit of iro and buba, a traditional outfit a popular outfit here in the western part of my country, it was gifted to my friend by her mother-in-law and she decided to make something else from it as the outfit is way much bigger than her and she doesn't like wearing such outfit as well so, as her friend, I made a beautiful transformation on the outfit into something simple, nice and beautiful.
This is the initial outfit.
This is the transformation I made on the initial outfit for my friend.
After making this dress, I saw that it was nice and beautiful and it will look so lovely on my friend, I have some left over which was set aside for some days, just for a while, I thought of making use of the left over as every pieces of leftovers or scraps can still be useful and put into good use until the last piece. That was exactly what I did on this left over, I was able to use the pieces to make an outfit for my friend's daughter with same fabric.
From the left over from the iro (wrapper), I cut out the lower part of a straight gown because that was the only thing I could think of making from the left over, after I was able to cut out the front and back bodice, then, I was sure something nice will come out of this, I cut out a matching color lining of the exact shape to turn it inside out for neat finishing.
The upper bodice was set aside as I proceeded to the cutting of the upper bodice, from the remaining pieces of the wrapper, I was able to cut out only the front upper bodice while the back was cut out from one of the sleeve of the buba.
The upper bodice was sewn together with the lower part of the dress after being turned inside out with a matching color lining, then I have this with the zipper at the back.
Now, to the final process which is the sleeves, on the buba, o only used one of the sleeve to cut out the back bodice while I'm left with the other sleeve, it was the other sleeve that I used to cut out the sleeves for my little friend and the remaining satin was used to make a puff at the hem of the sleeves with an elastic band.
Finally the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference and I have a complete dress for my little friend Victoria. These dresses were delivered to my friend and she was extremely happy with the beautiful transformation I made on the iro and buba she gave me. I'm glad I was able to put the initial outfit into something beautiful for the mother and her daughter. I hope you like the final outcome as well.
#Thanks for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Happy Sunday to you all.
