No se necesita de un gran trozo de madera, para hacer este tallado que irá en un collar siempre los hago un poco pequeños, así son mas atractivos, por lo que madera de 3 centímetros es suficiente. Para trabajar solo se necesita un cuter, puede ser de papelería, aunque suele perder el filo muy rápido. Sobre la madera dibujo una silueta de la flor de loto con todos los pétalos que se puedan dibujar.

El corte que realizo es muy sencillo, como los bordes del dibujo han quedado en forma de zic zac es solo cuestión de ir haciendo esta forma sacando poco a poco madera con la punta de la navaja, así podrá salir más fácil y no se corre el riesgo de que la madera se parta.

The next step was to make some cuts in the petals in levels, I did this to highlight the shape of the petals in relief, in this work it is the part that I liked doing the most.
El siguiente paso fue hacer unos cortes en los pétalos por niveles, esto lo hice para hacer resaltar en relieve la forma de los pétalos, en este trabajo es la parte que más me gustó realizar.

Then with the small knife I made some fine cuts in a line along the edges of all the petals, this to give a more beautiful finish to the lotus flower. Then with a small sandpaper I polished all the wood until it was very smooth and then gave it a bath of protective varnish, finally I placed the necklace and that was how it was finished.
Luego con la navaja pequeña hice unos finos cortes en forma de linea por los bordes de todos los pétalos, esto para darle un acabado más hermoso a la flor de loto. Luego con una pequeñalija fui puliendo toda la madera hasta que quedara muy suave para después darle un baño de barniz protector, por último le coloqué el collar y así quedó finalizado.

Qué les parece este resultado? creo que el símbolo es genial a través de la madera, no solo quise hacerlo por lo estético sino porque esta flor encierra un bello mensaje, debemos aprender a ser fuertes en la adversidad, no importa que tan negras sean las aguas del pantano, debemos elevarnos y buscar la luz de la iluminación y la sabiduría, ser más empáticos y compartir lo mejor de nosotros.
