Every fiesta in the town of San Francisco celebrates a certain event called “AGRI-AQUA”. This is to promote agriculture resources and at the same time give opportunities to every Brgy. (small village) could offer in regards to agriculture. This is where the fruits, vegetables and many more can be found in a certain place displayed and being sold. Let the people shop while the government employees judge the potential of respective cottages that can offer to the people. With the presence of the Mayor of the town, she witnessed the said event.
A small waiting shed or a Filipino cultural cottage is required to be built at the back of the municipal hall. A cottage is like a temporary booth or a stall where the agricultural goods of every Brgy. can be displayed into the public. Though it’s a competition who has abundance in terms of quality and quantity of goods. This is just like an open source or a way of marketing to promote to the public that there are several agricultural resources that the town of San Francisco Southern Leyte have.
The upcoming fiesta celebration is the perfect opportunity for this kind of event. For the information of everyone, Fiesta in the Philippines is the biggest celebration a small village or a town could have. That’s why, the numbers of people are expected to shop or to roam around whenever there’s a certain event in the town. Marketing should be publicised and to make it happen, there should be a larger number of people who could witness or could find out.
“AGRI-AQUA” event is not just a competition to the locals of the town but also to encourage Farmers to display their products. In this way, let the people from the town or from other towns to learn that there is a “TABO” (Bisayan word) or it means there’s a place in an specific day where farmers or sellers gather to display their products or goods to sell. This event helps the farmers and sellers to showcase their products to the public and the possibilities of a place to build a market in the future.
Obviously, in this said event you can find vegetables, fruits, marine resources and many more. While the town is still in process to find a possible place to build a market. “AGRI-AQUA” event is hoping to gain more people to visit and might be the possible buyers when a market will be built.
Perhaps, the town’s purpose of this event is to encourage people to come and witness the fun and opportunities to buy or to sell something. Event though it’s happening as part of the town’s Fiesta celebration. The cause is there and that is to let the public understand that there will be a gathering of people to sell agricultural resources.
