Hello beer friends, here is my post to @detlev's weekly Beer Saturday #369 🍺 Thanks a lot for hosting this fun challenge!
The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 369
Last week, I had a beer while sweating and assembling a bed that arrived in parts, and this week I had a beer while replacing the faucet in the kitchen. What a country Germany really is, the land of beer and DIY. I like Germany as a Beer & DIY fan 😊
However, I was frustrated about this week's work. Because this kitchen was bought from a previous resident, and it has been giving us a lot of troubles; we knew one of the stoves wouldn't work, but the dishwasher broke, the oven went bad, the shelves collapsed, and this week one of the pipes pipes connected to the water supply leaked ... 😭
Yesterday the tools I ordered arrived and I replaced the faucet. First time in my life. I think I've never had chance to do this if I were in Japan. Do you know a water faucet looks like this?
My partner shared a beer with me, probably feeling pity, as I was sweating and working under the sink. He is German, but he rarely does this kind of work. It is my job to install the lights, fix bikes, and set up the dishwasher. I am tempted to say, “You are a German man ...,” but I am afraid that he might say, “Aren't you a Yamato Nadeshiko?” (Yamato Nadeshiko is a term used in Japan to describe the idealized traditional Japanese woman), “You are a woman, but you are so much rough about childcare" etc etc. I finished my work solemnly.
Today's beer was from an Austrian brewery called Gösser, whose Radler (lemonade beer) is very good. My partner and I met in Austria, and every year we buy several bottles of Gösser beer and think fondly of our good old days in Austria.
Anyways, cheers to my successful DIY job!
Please make no breakdowns, our kitchen ... at least this year. Although I want to replace the stove and the oven ... My DIY life in Germany goes on 😉
Happy Beer Saturday 🍻

The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 369
