Hola amigos espero que estén muy bien. Mientras revisaba la plataforma de Hive de casualidad ví este reto de la comunidad Lifestyle, la cual hasta ese entonces no conocía, pues solo llevo un mes en Hive. Quiero decirles que enseguida me uní a la comunidad y la idea de este concurso me parece muy bonita, pues nos permite mostrar nuestras decoraciones de navidad y así deleitarnos la vista con los posts de otras personas y tal vez conocer otras culturas.

While reviewing the Hive platform, I happened to see this challenge from the Lifestyle community, which until then I didn't know about, since I've only been on Hive for a month. I want to tell you that I immediately joined the community and I think the idea of this contest is very nice, because it allows us to show our Christmas decorations and thus feast our eyes on other people's posts and perhaps get to know other cultures.
La Navidad se está acercando y ya en muchos hogares cubanos las personas empiezan a buscar en esas cajas guardadas en el closet su arbolito de navidad. Al Cuba ser un país subdesarrollado no es común ver muchas decoraciones navideñas de gran escala, pero algo que no puede faltar es el arbolito. Cada navidad podemos ver este adorno en todas las casas, algunos más grandes con muchos adornos, otros más pequeños y simples, pero podría decir que en la mayoría de los casos el arbolito siempre está presente.
Christmas is getting closer and already in many Cuban homes people are beginning to look in those boxes kept in the closet for their Christmas tree. As Cuba is an underdeveloped country, it is not common to see many large-scale Christmas decorations, but something that cannot be missing is the Christmas tree. Every Christmas we can see this ornament in every house, some larger with many ornaments, others smaller and simpler, but I could say that in most cases the tree is always present.
Hoy les voy a mostrar cómo quedó el arbolito de mi casa, además de todas las demás decoraciones que mi abuela creó, incluidas un pequeño pesebre. Algunas de ellas son compradas en una tienda, pero la mayoría son creación de mi abuela, que le gusta mucho hacer manualidades y además es costurera.
Today I am going to show you how the Christmas tree in my house turned out, in addition to all the other decorations that my grandmother created, including a small manger. Some of them are bought in a store, but most are my grandmother's creation, she really likes to do crafts and she is also a seamstress.

Quiero empezar mostrándoles el arbolito de navidad, que lo tenemos hace muchos años. Solía ser más un poco más grandeboero con el paso de los años ha sufrido algunos ajustes 😅. Como ven tiene adornos muy sencillos pero bonitos, como unas bambalinas, unas esferas más pequeñas, unas guirnaldas de color roja, azul y verde, las luces de navidad y por supuesto la estrella de Belén. Todos estos adornos se compraron en la tienda. Sin embargo, también tenemos en el arbolito varios muñecos de nieve de tela que mi abuela cogió de un vestido que tenía, los recortó y los usó de adorno navideño.
I want to start by showing you the Christmas tree, which we have had for many years. It used to be a bit bigger but over the years it has undergone some adjustments 😅. As you can see, it has very simple but beautiful decorations, such as some scenes, some smaller spheres, some red, blue and green garlands, Christmas lights and of course the star of Bethlehem. All of these ornaments were store bought. However, we also have several cloth snowmen on the tree that my grandmother took from a dress she had, cut them out and used as a Christmas decoration.

El arbolito está sobre una mesa, la cual también está decorada. Pueden ver como cuelgan las luces, también otros adornos de tela que mi abuela tomó del mismo vestido como otros muñecos de nieve, pingüinos, un oso polar, unas lamparitas con lazos, un regalo y una casita de pájaros. Además, hay cuatro renos que mi abuela hizo con material de espuma y para los ojos usó una lentejuela y una perlita.
The Christmas tree is on a table, which is also decorated. You can see how the lights hang, as well as other fabric decorations that my grandmother took from the same dress, such as other snowmen, penguins, a polar bear, some lanterns with bows, a gift and a birdhouse. In addition, there are four reindeer that my grandmother made with foam material and for her eyes she used a sequin and a pearl.
Usando este mismo material mi abuela hizo estos bellos muñecos de nieve un poco más grandes, ubicados a ambos pies de la mesa. Están decorados con unas listas de colores y unos papelitos dorados y para los ojos usó dos pequeños tachones de plástico azul. Asimismo, hizo un lago congelado dónde estos pequeños muñecos de nieve parecieran patinar.
Using this same material, my grandmother made these beautiful slightly larger snowmen, located at both feet of the table. They are decorated with some colored stripes and some golden paper and for her eyes she used two small blue plastic studs. Also, she made a frozen lake where these little snowmen seemed to skate.
El pesebre 👼
The manger 👼
La última parte de esta decoración combinada es el pesebre. Para hacerlo mi abuela utilizó poliespuma para las paredes, las cuales decoró con papeles de colores. Para el piso utilizó material de espuma y para simular la paja utilizó una guirnalda. Las personas y animales alrededor del pesebre son recortes de un número de la revista Un Mundo a mi Tamaño, en donde se hacía referencia al nacimiento de Jesús, hasta se pueden ver a los Tres Reyes Magos arriba a la izquierda. Para darle un toque más bonito mi abuela puso un arbolito de navidad arriba, hecho de cartulina y decorado con papel de color y el niño Jesús es un muñequito de plástico.
The last part of this combined decoration is the manger. To do it, my grandmother used polyfoam for the walls, which she decorated with colored paper. For the floor she used foam material and to simulate the straw she used a garland. The people and animals around the manger are cutouts from a number of the magazine A World to My Size, where reference was made to the birth of Jesus, you can even see the Three Wise Men in the upper left. To give it a nicer touch, my grandmother put a Christmas tree on top, made of cardboard and decorated with colored paper, and the baby Jesus is a plastic doll.

Mencioné antes a los Tres Reyes Magos, pues mientras que en otros países tienen a Santa Claus o Papá Noel, el cuál trae regalos a los niños, que reciben el 25 de diciembre, en el caso de Cuba la tradición es que los niños reciban sus regalos el 6 de enero que es el Día de los Reyes Magos. Creo que cada país tiene su cultura y es bueno conocerlas y respetarlas.
I mentioned the Three Wise Men before, because while in other countries they have Santa Claus, who brings gifts to children, which they receive on December 25, in the case of Cuba the tradition is that children receive their gifts on January 6, which is Three Kings Day. I believe that each country has its culture and it is good to know and respect them.
Como un bonus mi abuela también hizo estas simples decoraciones que puso arriba del espejo, las hizo en su máquina de coser usando solo tela.
As a bonus my grandmother also made these simple decorations that she put on top of the mirror, she made them on her sewing machine using just fabric.
Pues así queda esta bella decoración navideña que combina varios elementos, adornos que podemos encontrar en una tienda y otros que fueron hechos por mi abuela con mucho amor.
