Hi fellow hivers and members of the @Reggaejahm community. 💕February is considered as the month of love. I feel like so much happens or is celebrated at this time of year. It’s also Black History Month and two members from my family celebrate their birthdays around this time.
In this particular post, I’ll share with you with photos of Valentine’s Day celebration in Japan.

I would say chocolate is the main and most popular snack sold in celebration of the day. Various shops do their “hearty” decoration. Cake shops do cute and “chocolatey” pastries. The variety of chocolates is large to say the least. Continue reading as I share with you some signs and treats I saw for the occasion.

Chocolate at a Department Store

At the department store, customers can view samples of chocolate from the glass case or display areas. Items purchased are beautifully packaged and wrapped. The packages are perfect for presents. They can be mailed to receivers’ addresses and customers can choose the from the time slots available, the time they would like the packages to be delivered. It’s very convenient.

These chocolates seem cultural. We can see symbols and seasonal fruits of Japan. Mount Fuji and sakura (cherry blossoms), are two types among them.

Some types are decorated with fruits and nuts. Some contain alcohol. They are colorful.I loved the idea of the torch and got a few of those.

Chocolate at Foreign Food Stores

Foreign food stores also carry a good and creative variety of chocolates.

Chocolate at the Supermarket

The supermarket has reasonably-priced treats. Some are simple while others are a bit more fancy.

Wow! Chocolates must be big business in Japan. So many varieties to choose from too. It's tough to pick. LOL! Are flowers just as popular there too for Valentine's? I know they are here. Hope you had a fantastic celebration!

😃Hi @iamraincrystal. Yes, the chocolate business is big. I’m sure flower shops may have their specials but based on what I’ve observed, I’d say here, Valentine’s Day=Chocolate. Lol!!
From the commercial aspect of things, many will put on a Happy Valentine’s Day tag on whatever they can but the crowd flocks where the chocolates are. I didn’t do much in terms of celebrating but it was a good day. 😃Have a wonderful day/evening and thanks always for your support.

I had no idea that chocolates were such a big deal in Japan! It doesn't surprise me, though! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Japan really have a lot of chocolate 🍫 I’m just surprised they haven’t taken advantage of Easter here yet but I guess because April is busy time here.

Choco aid ? 😂 now I’ve seen it all.

Chocolate galore!!
For real, Easter is low key here. As soon as Valentine’s Day has passed, it’s all about sakura although we will see some rabbits and eggs here and there.

Choco aid ? 😂 now I’ve seen it all.

Mi seh!!!! Could have mistakenly grabbed it for bandaid. 🤣

@dmilliz, how do I format photos on hive? My photos are sometimes too big. Some of those chocolates are much smaller. 🤣

😀👏👏

Wow, a lot indeed.

Almost everywhere we've been, Valentine's celebrated, but we don't really participate as we see how commercialized it's become. We like to spontaneously do something special together all through the year.

In Suriname it could be anything, from chocolate, sweets, stuffed animals, jewels or bags, etc.

I love that kind is celebration - showing love through the year. 😃

Same in Jamaica. It’s really just giving your loved ones gifts they like.

Some of those chocolates are elaborate little bites.

Was there a special flavor or meaning in the torches?

Valentine's means candy and flowers mostly in the US.... and maybe a meal out at a special restaurant. There might be a romantic or funny Valentine's card as well.

My older sister made little heart shaped meatloafs for her and her husband for dinner....LOL... so you can express your love on Valentine's whatever way you want it seems.

So many designs right!
The were three flavors of the torches. They had pistachio, vanilla and strawberry. I thought they were cute but hadn't thought about whether there was meaning to it. Lol! I wonder if it had anything to do with the Olympic torch.

As in the US, that’s how I’m accustomed to seeing it being celebrated. Red roses are popular gifts for ladies especially.

Here, it seems “all” about chocolate.

Your brother-in-law must had loved those meat loaves. 💕
Yes, we can express love in whatever way we choose.
Have a lovely day. 😃🎶

Wow! A very impressive collection of chocolate 🍫 you have there. It must have taken a while for you to collect all those pictures.

😃Thank you. It helped that shops really advertised for the season. Once you're out, you see them. Lol
Thanks for stopping by @bearmol. Have a wonderful day.

Muchas gracias. 😃

Wow, if you're into chocolates that's the place to be! I'm astonished at the variety and specialized versions! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

😃So true. I’m not so into it but the designs are really lovely and creative.

Ditto that here too! I like straight cacao, or maybe some dark chocolate! Yes, they are, that's true! So diverse! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Dark chocolate can be “bittersweet”. Lol

Hehe...indeed! I basically don't like a lot of processing and white (highly processed) sugar. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I understand. 😀

😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Interesting candies!

Thank you and thanks for stopping by. 😃
