Sprucing Up My Art Corner

in #hive-1810372 years ago

Hey, Y'all!

Welcome back to emanate artworx. Today, I'd like to give you a peek into my work space, where I make my physical art. It's a corner of my small living room, nothing much, but it gets the job done for now!

I've been using this little corner as a makeshift studio for a few years (ever since we moved to this house), but until now I hadn't put much energy into decorating it or making it special. However, I have read that doing little things like this can be beneficial for increasing motivation and encouraging the creative processes.

About the art I chose to frame...

Last year, my bff went on a vacation to Rome and brought me back these awesome freakin' watercolor paintings she bought from a street artist. How did she know I would love them?! She's a great friend, despite the fact she is not yet on Hive 🙄😆. -- Actually, she's also the same friend for whom I made these little wooden signs (well, for her kids, really). -- Unfortunately, the only name I have for the artist is "Massimo," written on the back. I've included the signature to give the artist recognition for their work 🥺.

You might recognize the two adorable chibis, as they are prints of NFTs made by Hive's own @Jijisaurart! On the left is Sugar, which I won by a stroke of luck in her NFT giveaway back in February this year. And on the right is Pepper, a commissioned NFT that Jiji so kindly made for me at the start of May. They look perfect together! They need more friends 🤠.

In fact, these two chibis are what really sparked my motivation to decorate. I knew seeing them on the wall would help me stay focused and active on Hive and on my artistic development.

Finally, the two landscapes and the abstract are my own work from some time last year, Afternoon Lake and Peaceful Scene. I felt like I really captured the serene mood I was going for on the landscapes 😌.

The abstract was actually made from leftover paint on my palette from some acrylic painting I made. I hate wasting the extra paint! 🤓 So, I use it to make little abstract pieces or practice techniques instead of trashing it. And this one just happened to turn out great. The texture and movement make me feel happy, so I framed it.

So there you have it! Tour complete ✅️. I hope you've enjoyed seeing a part of my IRL world since I don't share it very often 🥲.

What do you use to decorate your space? Do you change it up periodically, or keep it the same always? Thanks, everyone, for reading. See you next time!

Now I can see the pics! I love your space, Ema! 😍 Love the warmth color from the lampshade. Thanks for commissioning and hanging them on the wall. They are so cute together. 😊

!PIZZA 🍕 😍

Yeah! Thank you so much for helping me liven up the space. There's still room for 2 more frames 🤩. Your chibis look great as prints! 🧡

With the little lamp light added, the room really has a relaxing feeling or look to it.. Won't mind chilling there reading a book

It is a cozy little corner, especially with the lamp : ) Thanks for stopping by!

Nice. Looks like a great space to work in. I wonder what the view outside that window is like. Peakd wouldn't show me the pictures for some reason, I had to change it to Ecency to see anything.

Gaaah, you're not the only person who said that it wouldn't show on peakd. Idk what that's about. But I am glad you had a look on ecency.

Thank you! Yes, it's a cozy little corner. Outside the window is just a little bit of the yard and the neighbor's fence 🤠.
