Shall we celebrate Meatless Monday ?

Good morning , today is Meatless Monday .so, shall we eat this kind of food? Today I brought a delicious recipe that everyone can enjoy. Actually, this food is a special food for us in Sri Lanka.

The name of this dish is milk rice.In Sinhala we call it Kiribat. In English it is called milk rice. Because this dish is prepared by mixing coconut milk with rice, it got the name Milk Rice.

Like every special occasion that happens in our lives, our mothers cook this milk rice. So this milk rice is a special dish that is definitely prepared for our New Year.Milk rice can be introduced as the main dish that decorates our New Year dinner table.

There are several different ways to prepare milk rice. So today I am talking about one of those methods.
We eat milk rice with lunumiris . So I will also mention below how to make Linumiris.

So first, let's prepare the milk rice

Ingredients

  • White rice 400g
  • Thick coconut milk 500ml
  • salt powder 2 tsp

We mostly use white rice. Milk rice can be made from other rice. But according to the right recipe, white rice is suitable for milk rice.

  • 1step

Wash the rice well and put it in the rice cooker.

  • 2 step

Then add water until it covers the rice. You have to cook this rice the same way you cook rice at home. Now add the required amount of salt powder.

  • 3 step

When the rice is boiled well, add coconut milk to it. Mix well ( low flame )

  • 4 step

Turn off the rice cooker after all the coconut milk has been absorbed and the rice has become like this

  • 5 step

Now the milk rice is ready. Now we can put this milk rice in a big tray and cut it into pieces like this.
You can cut it into any shape your choice

So we need to make this milk rice more delicious. So let's make a very spicy lunumiris for it.This is a new recipe for those who like spicy food.

Ingredients

  • Large onions 02
  • chili flakes or dried chilies 20g
  • salt powder 1 tsp
  • lemon 1
  • tomato 1
  • A few black pepper seeds

  • 1 step

I use a grinding stone to grind this lunumiris . Some friends may not have a grinding stone in their homes. So you can grind this lunumiris with a blender.

First grind dried chilies , salt and black pepper seeds well.

  • 2 step

Add chopped onion and grind it. Next add to that chopped tomato and grind it well .

  • 3 step

Last , Add few drops of lime and mix well.

Now our spicy lunumiris is ready. You can also prepare a milk rice like this on special occasions. Very suitable for breakfast. Then make it beautiful like this and present it to your family members.they will all this recipe .

So let's all enjoy this milk rice.

Thank you so much everyone . Thank you @plantpower community . Have a good day.

This way it reaches more people and this is emerging a new fun way to interact and reach out to people.

As an example I have made a thread for you here
Feel free to make your own threads here
I also have a quick guide to help you get with Leo threads here

Let me know in case you need any assistance in the process.

Dear @nishani9, it is cool to learn about Kiribat and how the people of Sinhala enjoy it. It looks more closely like Coconut Rice in Nigeria which we use coconut milk to cook. The look of the meal is very appealing and if you shared it on Threads, a lot more people would learn about your rich culture and perhaps ask a few questions on the recipe. You get some $LEO rewards too.
