Presenting two sweet ingredients is double happiness with a combination of savory coconut milk.

It looks like there are ingredients that are tempting to cook. Even though sometimes I feel very tired and there are still main courses left for the next meal, I still feel that the ingredients in the kitchen have a strong charm for making food.

This time there was a pumpkin that finally caught my interest in making something sweet. You could say it's a dessert, but it's also a snack before the main course meal arrives.

I will serve pumpkin as a sweet soup, not a savory soup that contains spices and herbs.

At first, there were no bananas. But when I pick up pandan leaves in my family garden, there is a supply of ripe bananas. So I asked my brother for permission to take the banana to make sweet soup.

So, "Warm Banana-Mixed Sweet Pumpkin Soup" is the right choice this time for me to cook with the available ingredients. Stay tuned!

The Ingredients

  • 500 grams of pumpkin
  • 300 grams of bananas
  • 200 grams of brown sugar
  • 5 tablespoons of white sugar
  • Pandan Leaves
  • sprinkle of salt
  • 1 liter of water

For bananas, here I use the type of banana to be served by cooking it first, for example for the sweet dessert that I will make. I don't know if the area where you live there has the same type of banana for a dessert dish like this. But make sure the bananas used have a texture that is not too soft. Another important trick is to add the banana slices after you've cooked the pumpkin, and before pouring in the coconut milk.

How To Make It

STEP 1

First, let's prepare the pumpkin. Peel the pumpkin, then wash it clean. Then cut the pumpkin into smaller pieces.

STEP 2

This is followed by preparing the bananas. Cut the bananas into the size or shape you want.

STEP 3

Boil the pumpkin with water and add a pinch of salt and pandan leaves. If you don't have pandan leaves, you can use vanilla to enhance the distinctive sweet fragrance.

STEP 4

After the pumpkin is slightly cooked, add the bananas and brown sugar with white sugar.

STEP 5

Add coconut milk as a final step, when the pumpkin and banana are cooked. Stir briefly to simmer, then remove from heat.

Serve while warm. You can also add cream, or coconut cream.

It's my favorite soup. Just add a bit of hot falafel and chickpeas to it.
Bon appetite

I still have difficult time to find chickpeas but that's great idea. Thanks for stopping by

Pumpkin soup is so delicious. I have it with pork meat but not bananas, sounds so tasty !

:)

Oh! I got an idea on how to use pumpkins if I have supply. Thanks for sharing @anggreklestari. 😀

Serving with coconut milk and brown sugar ❤️

Yay! That's so sweet and creamy! 😋😋

Yum! I am growing pumpkins this year and now looking forward to autumn even more. Thanks for yet another fantastic recipe :D

Soup looks delish! We have this banana type in the Philippines and we call them `senyoritas* because they are small but very sweet.

Is that kolak, sis? Seems yummy :9. One bowl please..

It's a delicious soup, I like bananas. Next time dip the pumpkin in honey it will taste great.

Serving pumpkin with honey is a great choice too. Usually, I Made roasted pumpkin then topped with honey or cream

it must be very tasty.

I really like banana kolak as much as I like to mung bean porridge, but pumpkin kolak, I don't really like it, but your food is great

Firstly, I would want you to thank your brother for allowing you use some bananas 😅 this sweet soup was possible because of it.

I don't think we do have same kind of bananas but I know exactly the texture you're recommending 😊

We don't have Pandan leaves here or maybe I don't know what it's called here so I'm going to try it out with vanilla as you suggested.

I would really love to try this out someday... The ingredients are super tempting and obviously would be very sweet 😅 I love bananas.

But a question, how do pumpkins taste? 🙈 I didn't see it as an ingredient I can taste but now I really need to know 😋

Well written and shown, thanks for the tutorial ma'am 🙌

Pumpkin has less taste but a bit savory and you have to try it when pumpkin season is coming :)

I will for sure, thanks

🙂😊
