Combine sour taste in desserts when you are bored with completely sweet desserts.
Sour taste is rarely chosen for desserts because we prefer sweet ones. Sour isn't a popular flavor, but that doesn't mean there aren't any fans. Like sour fruits enjoyed for fruit salads with spicy herbs, it still has true connoisseurs.
I also like the sour taste of tropical fruits like young mango and pineapple. For me, the sour-tasting fruits are very delicious and served with a spicy salad dressing, topped with roasted peanuts! But many people also don't like fruit salads that contain sour-tasting fruits. How about you guys?
The sensation of enjoying strong sour fruits is difficult to describe in words. There is a special freshness that is delicious when we enjoy the sour fruits. But yes, only some people can find the sensation of pleasure in enjoying sour fruits, especially those with a strong taste as well as in the citrus fruit group.
Lime With Mint
Lime has a strong sour taste. Supported by a delicious citrus scent, lime is also often used in desserts and of course a variety of beverages. Usually, they are made for serving when the weather is hot, especially in tropical areas to create a fresh sensation.
I think about lime desserts, especially lime pudding, it's been a long time. It's just that I was hesitant to make it because my nephew doesn't like the sour taste.
The packaging of Lime Jelly, an instant product, caught my attention in my food ingredients supply cupboard. There's also some lime in the kitchen. I think it would be suitable if used as a fresh dessert, especially for breaking the fast on a hot day at this time.
This instant jelly packaging has a mixture of mint flavor in it. Refreshing combination in taste as well as fragrance. But it didn't stop here, I thought about combining it with strawberry flavor. I don't have any fresh strawberries in stock. So in this recipe, I used strawberry powder.
THE IMPORTANT METHOD
To be honest, I didn't really succeed in making pudding this time. Because I mixed coconut milk which I shouldn't have added to the pudding mix.
On the packaging, it is not stated to add other ingredients because it is an instant jelly powder. But since I wanted to make two layers of pudding, I took the initiative to add a strawberry flavor to add a pink color. Turns out this was not entirely successful in form. That looks bad, right?
So, an important method that you must do to avoid failure like mine is, to pay close attention to the time for the pudding to set. I removed the pudding from the molds too quickly so the final layer (when flipped into an undercoat) was not completely set.
For a safer method, use direct serving glasses so you don't have to remove the pudding from the molds. Also, keep the pudding longer in the refrigerator than 3 hours. If you don't want to keep it too long in the refrigerator, you should just use a serving glass. It is not recommended to use molds.

Keep the remaining half of the pudding mixture warm while waiting for the pudding in serving glasses or molds to harden/set. This is done so that the rest of this mixture does not harden because we will use it again for the next layer.
Then, add a tablespoon of strawberry powder. You can also add a little food coloring to enhance the final result because here the powder that I used didn't work to add color.

SERVING
I added slices of lime and dried rosebuds (From rose tea sachet) to serve the pudding for the food photography session.
The result was not good in form because I took out the pudding too quickly to break my fast. But I try my best to make the pudding still beautiful to look at.
As for the taste, it's very fresh to hear the combination of lime and mint, and the taste is a little sweet. Strawberry scent also comes out of these desserts. It doesn't feel bad, even though it looks like a mess. my bad :)
