Do you like avocados, Food Lovers? I'm sure there are many people who don't really like avocados because the taste of avocados tends to be plain and the texture is soft. Some people even find the texture of an avocado to be disgusting, especially if it's overripe.
Plus, we are not always lucky to get good quality avocados. Just like what happened to me, I often get poor-quality avocados. The inside of the avocado has many blackish fiber lines.
But these things actually make me not give up on being able to like avocados. Because avocados are perfect for health, as well as skin beauty, avocados deserve to be liked. Especially as a supporter of a healthy lifestyle.
Tips To Learn To Love Avocados
One of the important tips for us to become fond of avocados is to combine avocados with your favorite ingredients. As much as possible, look for ingredients that have a different texture from avocado. So, it can cover up the boring texture of the avocado.
For example, we can serve avocados with a variety of protein ingredients that have a strong savory taste. For example, as I did in this recipe, I combined avocado with roasted tempeh and a spicy flavor. For you, you can also combine avocado with lentils or other roasted vegetables.
The most important thing is that you like the ingredients and seasoning used to complement the avocado dish. For me, I use spicy seasoning because I love spicy things!
The Spicy thing really helped me to like avocado. The doctor advised me to eat a lot of avocados. So, I always have to find new ways to eat avocados that are delicious and don't bore me.
So, this time I will share my new way of eating avocado with roasted tempeh which I season spicy with chili sauce. This dish is really delicious in my opinion. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or just a filling snack.
Roasted Tempeh With Spicy Flavor
Before serving avocado with roasted tempeh, I will make roasted tempeh first. Well, you can also use other ingredients which can have a crispy texture when roasting.
By the way, if you can't eat a side dish with a spicy taste, then you can combine tempeh with soy sauce. Soy sauce is perfect too for tempeh.
So, what do you need:
- 1 pack of tempeh, about 200-2500 grams
- 3-5 tablespoons of hot sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 3 cloves of red onion, chopped
- 1/4 onion, chopped
- a teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
- enough cooking oil to cook onions and garlic, chopped
- sesame seeds (optional)
Note: if you don't want to use fresh garlic and onions, you can use Italian herbs, then also garlic powder. Just adjust the taste to your taste buds.
How to make roasted tempeh
Here I use a manual chopper with a small container. So, I need to cut tempeh first into small pieces. If you use a large food processor, you can skip this step, without having to cut tempeh into small pieces.
Before roasting tempeh, we need to make the tempeh texture into crumbs. I also use a chopper. Previously I cut the tempeh into small pieces, then I started crushing the tempeh into crumbs.
The thing to pay attention to at this stage is not to make the tempeh crumbs too smooth. When held, tempeh crumbs will still feel like it has a few soybean particles inside.
After successfully making tempeh crumbs, transfer the tempeh crumbs to the baking tray. Make them just a single layer. Don't let them overlap too much in one place.
Roast for 20 minutes with 10 minutes per part, then stir tempeh crumbs and roast again in the last ten minutes or 15 minutes.
After getting roasted tempeh, then heat the cooking oil. Then, stir-fry chopped garlic and onion until they smell nice.
After the garlic and onion mixture smells good, then add the roasted tempeh. Stir well.
Then, don't forget to add a teaspoon of salt and 1/ teaspoon of sugar, also chili sauce or whatever sauce you use.
Stir fry for about 3 minutes or until all the seasonings seep perfectly into the tempeh. try to use small fires to prevent them from burning.
Roasted tempeh with spicy seasoning is ready to serve. Then prepare the avocado. Serve roasted tempeh in the middle of the avocado halves with holes. The final step, sprinkle them with sesame seeds!
Whoa! I really like the results. With avocado meat that is soft like butter, combined with spicy roasted tempeh with a crispy texture.
So far, this recipe is my favorite recipe for consuming avocado. The taste of avocado which tends to be plain will be dominated by savory side dishes, as well as spicy ones. So, what do you think about this one?
Do you have a favorite way to serve avocado? Don't forget to try to like avocados because avocados contain unsaturated fats, as well as carbohydrates, protein, and fiber which are good for our bodies.
