So, for this time I will show you a simple way to cook white curly long beans. You can of course use long beans in general. It has no effect at all.
The most important thing is that if you come across this type of vegetable in the Chinese market in the future, you can copy side dishes similar to mine.
The Important Note
In this menu creation, I used a potato mixed with white curly long beans on it. But you have to skip the potatoes if you serve this side dish with rice. This is so that there are no excessive sources of carbohydrates.
THE INGREDIENTS
- 150-200 grams of white curly long beans
- a potato
- a big tomato, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, sliced
- 5 small cloves of red onion, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
First, prepare white curly long beans. Cut into pieces that are easy to put in your mouth, or just according to your preference.
Cut tempeh into cubes. If you use another plant-based protein, then just prepare it as you normally would.
Boil the water first. Then add the potato pieces. And cook until tender. I used about five minutes because I used small pieces.
Preheat olive oil or your other type of cooking oil. Stir-fry sliced garlic and red onion until they become nicely fragrant.
Add pieces of white curly long beans. Stir-fry for a moment. Then add a little water so it doesn't burn. Also makes it easier for them to mature. Cook for 5 minutes.
Add boiled potatoes and tempeh. Also, salt. Cook for about 2 minutes more. Then remove them.
SERVING WAYS
Serve stir-fried white curly long beans while warm. You can also top them with fried onions or sesame seeds for an extra savory taste.
This meal is really suitable for a dinner that is filling but doesn't make you feel too full and scary.
I'm excited to enjoy this new type of vegetable. Also, my husband. Apparently, he prefers white curly long beans compared to long beans in general. The texture of white curly long beans is softer, he said.
Of course, in the next time, I will buy white curly long beans again at the market. It is a pleasure to know that my husband loves this vegetable. So, I have more opportunities to cook this menu as our daily food choice.
