construction process of a trench bridge

in #hive-1787082 years ago

Hi all! How are you guys today? I hope you are always healthy in your daily routine.

A few days ago I visited my brother's house which is a little far from my house, it took me approximately 5 hours to get to my brother's house, I stayed there for a week, because I haven't seen him for about a year. without looking at him, of course I really miss him, as in general when meeting people we love, of course we can spend time with them, talking and telling stories about each other's experiences and also remembering a little funny incident when we were little while coffee and smoking in front house.

While I was there I saw that there was construction of a ditch bridge in front of the neighbor's house, so every morning I tried to see and pay attention to the stages and process of making the bridge to completion, I saw many things from this construction process, starting from cleaning the trench. and also casting to assembling reinforcing iron for the floor.

In the process of making this bridge, I saw that there were 3 workers and one of them was the conductor, this bridge was built on a moat that has a width of 1.5 meters, the size for this bridge is approximately 2 meters wide and 4.5 meters long.

According to the conductor's answer, the cost required for this building is $550 and that includes materials and workmanship costs, while the materials needed for this construction are;

Cement 16 sacks
Iron 12 mm 20 rods
5 cubic sand

The main process that I saw after the trench was cleaned was the installation of molds for the lower left support, which was then followed by assembling the iron supports, after all the iron was assembled and then put into the prepared molds, the distance between one iron and the other was approximately 20 cm and everything is stretched upwards which will later be bent and united with a support on the right side, then will be cast to fill the molds that has been installed. .

After the casting hardens, the molds will be removed and attached to the supporting part next to it and a similar process is carried out until the casting process and releasing the molds again when the cement hardens.

Then the molds will be installed for the bridge floor, before the molds is installed, wood will be plugged under it as a barrier, and the wood that is plugged in must be tightly so that when the casting process is carried out the molds does not collapse down.

After all the molds are installed, all the extra iron towering upwards will be bent and put together with each other and the more ends will be cut and other iron will also be added in the opposite direction and then tied with wire. iron, in the process of tying this iron iron the workers use a tool similar to a fishing hook and this tool will be rotated until the iron wire is really strong and the iron does not shift anymore.

after all the iron has been assembled, the boards will be installed as a retaining molds for the cement mortar on all sides of the bridge floor, then the casting process begins, I asked the conductor what is the ratio of the mix between cement and sand to produce a strong cast and sturdy, he replied that to produce a good cast and solid results it is 1:2.5 meaning 1 bucket of cement then the sand to be mixed is 2.5 buckets of sand.

And that's a little bit of the construction process of a trench bridge in my post this time, I hope you like it and see you in the next post.

Hi @lancang. Such a great coincidence that you were able to witness the construction process of a trench bridge. 😊

During your observations, what do you think is the most challenging part or step for the entire project?

I saw a lot of process things there, but one process that I think is quite challenging is to unite all the iron on the bridge floor, because every meeting between one iron and another must be tied with iron wire and that's a lot and that's where the challenge is a bit a little difficult to have more patience..and thanks so much for your support..🙏🙏🙏

Yes that's right @lancang. Assembling and organizing all the steel reinforcement bars according to their correct spacings and levels is not an easy task as these materials would directly affect the structural stability of the said trench bridge. Thank you for sharing your observations! 😊

You are wellcome ..☺️

Thanks so much..

Your publication of the constructive method is very complete, I like to see this type of publication because something new is learned.

I liked the mooring hook with handle, here we use them without a handle.

Thank you!

You're wellcome..😊

Congratulations @lancang! We're delighted to specially curate your awesome publication and award it RUNNER-UP in Architecture Brew #84. More power!

With immense pleasure dear @lancang. Best of health always! 😀

The main process that I saw after the ditch was cleaned was the installation of the mall for the lower left support, which was then continued with the assembly of the iron supports, after all the iron was assembled and then put into the mall that had been prepared, the distance between one iron and the other iron is approximately 20 cm and all of them are stretched upwards which will later be bent and united with a support on the right side, then will be cast until it fills the mall that has been installed.

Dear @lancang. Can you please clarify what do you mean by the word "mall" in the paragraph above. Is there a more appropriate technical term for that word?

I apologize for my mistakes in typing the words so that the words cannot be translated properly on google translation, I mean the word "mall" is a mold, but I have edited my post. I am very sorry..🙏🙏🙏

Okay no worries. Thank you for editing the necessary corrections.
