Finishing the Outside of the 70 Foot Tower - Phase 3

in #hive-1787082 years ago

Thankfully my husband took a lot of pictures in the process of building the tower, because my phone had very few! I was just ready to see the final product! If you'd like to see more of the process, be sure to check out the video attached at the bottom of the post!

The next part of the tower construction was getting the walls built. The massive pile of concrete blocks in the first post about the tower had a photo with the blocks in it. There were a lot that were needed to build the walls! The workers spent many days getting the walls constructed. The upper walls were made with M2 which is styrofoam and wire with concrete over the top of it.

After the walls were finished, it was time to paint! Our worker, Juan, got the privilege of standing on a ladder on the balcony of the second story in order to paint the outside of the third! Thankfully he was wearing a harness, but it sure did look high!

The tower was finished a few months ago on the outside. We are waiting to sell some of the lots (we are getting the neighborhood lots separated) so we can get the funds to complete the inside of the tower. It stands over 70 feet tall from the base to the top.

In my first post about the tower, I asked what people thought it would be used for. Starting from the top, we will have a lookout. The next level down will hold water tanks for the village area we are building. This will help to ensure we have pressure!

The next level down will be an apartment. Probably a bedroom. It will be for airbnb or something similar, not a long term rental. There are so many people already interested in going up into it! People stop all the time and ask!

One level will have a bathroom with bathtub! That is unheard of around this area! The bottom level will have a kitchen and living area. It definitely is an interesting design with just enough space for a couple!

As you can see, it's one of my favorite things to photograph around here! It just stands out so much - from all directions! It is definitely a sight to see and I love that my husband's vision for it has come to pass - now just to get the inside finished! So proud!
