Good evening to everyone
I am @youloseagain and want to explain this new project I am undertaking.
First off I would like to introduce this account and what it is here to do.
The Hive-Woodpeckers is a wood working class that has been set up for disadvantaged kids in my area in the United Kingdom. This has been set up alongside a community group of volunteers that are trying to better the lives of these kids and try to help them enjoy themselves.
The kids that I will be teaching range from 6 years old to teens. I am here to teach them basic wood working skills, get them into a calm and safe environment away from their home lives and try to bring some happiness to their days.
This is a voluntary position with no funding except for what I have put into this project. My total costs so far are well into £2000 and we have only just started. There is still plenty more to buy.
I am providing all the equipment, the workshop, materials and food and drink for the kids while they are with me for their sessions.
I hope that with Hive and the fantastic communities we have, that you will all be able to support this project in any way you can.
Donations, Reblogs, Comments and Upvotes will all be greatly appreciated. I will be sharing all comments that we receive with the kids so please try to be kind and supportive of their efforts. Some have never done this before and I want them to grow and be proud of themselves and their works.
As the weeks go on I will be documenting their progress in blogs on Hive, with the aim of onboarding some of the older kids to Hive and also their parents.
I hope that onboarding them will allow us to grow further as a project, but also showcase what Hive can do and how amazing it is.
Please stick around and be a part of this journey that we will go on.
Thankyou
Team Hive-Woodpeckers
