In the distance, a magical eye appears on the horizon, filling the sky with a dense fog. The wooden bridge guided by the eye unfolds and extends over the water. Behind the eye, a timeless clock becomes visible. As the center opens, the fog ushers an angel toward the bridge. She steps inside effortlessly as if being lured into the void that is the expanse of time.
Bewildered, Melanie sat at the edge of the pier watching as the bridge invites her to come. She hesitates, unsure if the images of the an angel are just a figment of her dreams turning her wish into reality.
Of late, her grief threatens to devour her sanity. The pier where memories of her father linger, is her only solace as he carefully attaches the bait to her pink fishing pole. Then, they wait and wait, laughing and munching on snacks not minding their hands bringing with it the odor to their mouths.
A universe of colors in calming hues fill her senses. She blinks as the outline of a thin man stands in the portal. Shaking her head, she trembles.
"But my father is no longer on this Earth," she murmurs, then succumbs to the feeling of weightlessness.
For my Freestyle Collage No. 72, my theme is "Angel in the Mist". I wanted to portray an ethereal theme of grief and heartache as a young girl yearns for the past. A vision brings her happiness as she spots her father in the presence of an angel.**
To assist in creating the fantasy vision, I relied upon several beautiful pure fractals I created in the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X that resemble flowers to surround the pier and in the skyline where the girl sits.
For the background scene, I utilized a lovely free-sourced fantasy eye image. I love the various sky and landscape elements with the waterfall and crushing shoreline near the bridge. I then paired it with one of the LMAC original contest images to place as stakes on the bridge.
I also required a young girl sitting down and an angel. I decided on the images below to include I felt enhanced the scene:

With the numerous images I chose to complete the collage, combining them meant I required a design program. The one I use is Canva. I share with you my procedures below. In those procedures you can view all the features I have available with my upgraded Annual Pro Membership Subscription.
To a blank, white canvas, I added the eye fantasy image.
Resized the eye image with the bridge to fill the entire screen as the background.
Added the angel image.
Couldn't easily remove the background, so I opted for a frame to fit it in the eye.
Added the bird and various fractal flowers images and repositioned them in the skyline and across the canvas, filtering some to add or lessen shading.
Added the LMAC landscape image with the poles.
Removed background of the poles, duplicated the image, then positioned and resized them.
Added the sitting girl image.
Removed background of girl; resized and positioned her on the bridge. Completed the project.
