.Recycling things which I loved to do took me to make this mini desk organizer. It quite good to see and transform this craft that's fit me well.
Since I draw sometime, I needed to put my things and try to organize them before and after I used them. I don't have a desktop/working table. There are times that I draw lying in bed or in the floor. Aside from having neck pain issues from doing that poor posture I also lose some art materials like my kneaded eraser.
So today, I am glad to share how I recycle some of my old teaching books and turned out beautiful.
MATERIALS:
Old book pages
Glue
Ruler
Scissor
Water based paints (white, black and yellow)
Here's how:
1.Take out several pages from books and roll it. Secure edges with glue. Just do as many as you can since were gonna be cutting it according to our prefered height.
2.Prepare 24 pcs divide into 3 and cut by 9cm. Glue them all together and allow to dry. This will be the left, middle and the right side.
3.Another one is 42 pcs divide into 2 and cut by 9cm also. This will be the front and back upper body.
4.Next one is 34 pcs divide into 2 and cut by 6cm and additional 21 pcs. This will be the drawer part.
5.Get a thick paper and cut it based on the size of the drawers width. Glue and paste it on together with the roll papers. Use heavy things so it can securely press it.
6.After all them completely dries, you can now paint it. I used water based paint yellow and black.
Since my paper had some sort of writings, I chose to put white paint first as the base. It is good to cover it as the first layer.
7.Once it all completely dry, I decorated it with some beads. Actually this is a seeds from an unknown type of plant that I used to collect.
8.I paint the whole body of yellow. The drawer and phone holder was black to give some extra vibe. I just add more glue for some spots and let it dry.
This is one of the things that I kept as a remembrance of my beloved dog. Those memories were kept because this seeds that we collected is were we spend our morning walk routine.
This is the final look guys. It is very cute and fit my phone perfectly. I already put my drawing pencils and brushes on top. My other drawing stuff goes on the drawer like erasers and sharpener.
