Hello to all my creative art loving friends! I hope you are doing well!
Today I want to show you a winter landscape that I have been painting for several months. 🙈
Of course, I didn't literally work on this for months. There were just long breaks. Let's start with the fact that this is not the picture that I chose to paint. This was what we drew in the drawing master class. And to be honest, I didn’t like the reference at all. But still, I decided that I would draw together with everyone because for me it meant experience and the right skills, because we were drawing with the artist.
We started by dividing the sheet into two parts: at the top there will be a forest, and at the bottom there will be a river. And first they began to work on the upper part.
Here the task was to draw as many small gray branches near the trees as possible. I didn't like it. ☹️ Yes, I know, I don't have the patience to draw the same type of details. 😩
Then we moved on to drawing a river with the reflection of the setting sun in it. Well, this is a completely different matter - it’s much more interesting. 😀
Then we painted snow, snowdrifts and trees in the foreground. I had painted snow before so I wasn't stressed.
When I saw the trees that I got, I was very happy. For the first time I was able to draw trees and not some strange sticks 😆
Then I drew Christmas trees on the right. I must say that I quickly finished with them (I was surprised myself). And we also had to work hard on the water so that it would look like a winter river.
I did not set out to achieve perfection in drawing this drawing, since my goal was simply to gain experience and drawing skills. So I decided to stop there. Here's my result!
The funny thing, my dears, is that in the end I liked the picture. I framed it under glass and now I admire it every day. I learned a lesson for myself: you shouldn’t decide in advance whether you like it or not, but you have to try it and then you might really love the result! 😀
