Greetings to all! 💖
As some of you know, I'm in search of my own style and trying a little bit of everything. This time I wanted to try to make a digital drawing, which I've only tried to do a couple of times. For this I tried the Ibis Paint X application which has millions of options and is super practical.
I admit that I loved it and my imagination began to fly with each stroke, but I must keep trying to improve.
To make my drawing I based a little on the anime style, somewhat cartoonish and compact shapes. I had some time without drawing that way, I didn't want to draw something so far-fetched, so I tried to resize the parts of the face and make them different.
My initial idea was to make an Elf. For that vision the first thing that came to my mind was the white hair, the eyes of a unique color and the pointed ears (although in the end they were covered by the hair). The purple skin tone was really an experiment, as they are pale a little purple wouldn't go bad, plus I like to shade like purple and pink. I tried to do it on the flesh skin but I wasn't convinced, I preferred to paint her skin purple and take a risk.
Process:
I traced my sketch as the ideas came to me. Then I added the colors I wanted to use in a capable way, working on different bases (in case I made a mistake).
I tried several shades of purple to give life to the face, I used red for the lips because I wanted a color that stood out and imposing. Finally, to the eyes I applied a mixture of red, orange and yellow mixing everything as I liked and adding highlights.
I couldn't decide whether to add blush on the cheeks.
I went on to create piercings because I wanted my elf to be a little rebellious and identify with me.
I then proceeded with the hair, using white and shades of whitish grays to achieve highlights and shadows. I think it does look a bit like an elf.
Finally, I created a slightly cold background to justify the color of their skin and hair. I think both cold, wind, nature and leaves look good with elves.
I hope you liked my design or that it caught your attention 😊💕
I am open to suggestions and advice.
Thank you for appreciating my process this far 💖
