Splinterlands art contest week 240 - Pit Ogre/pen drawing

in #hive-1743012 years ago

Good afternoon Hive blogger family, Welcome to my art blog, today I will share my new artwork "Pit Ogre" I made this work to take part in the #splinterlands art contest week 240 and this is my first #splinterlands contest.

For your information, In the game #splinterlands, Pit ogre is described as huge and has great strength, they used to live in large caves in the mountains of Molten.

Before I made this drawing I had tried several ways to make several poses and finally, I found an android application that is useful for making illustrations, namely the "Poseit" android app, so in the application, a model has been provided that we can determine the camera position, object poses, etc. to obtain other benefits we can upgrade it too, this app is very helpful for hand-drawn illustrators like me cool app btw.

The pose I used to draw was using the Poseit app for Android

Process

As I said above, I have previously tried many poses to get a pose that I find interesting and after the pose determination stage is complete, the next process is the basic/sketch drawing process using a graphite pencil, oh...as a drawing medium, I use an HVS sheet. A4 size.

I made a grid with a pencil as a guide line before the sketch process.

I start the sketch with fine lines until the object I want is formed even if it's not fully visible.

Finally the sketch process is complete and the overall shape of the drawing object has been formed, the next process is drawing using a pen.

I started by drawing the outline, then the face.

At this stage, I started to make the hatch boundaries and determine the highlights so that the object becomes more real.

To increase the volume of the object I use the line-hatching technique "line volume".
And in the end, to emphasize the drawing object, I started shading the background with lines.

Final Result

The image above is the final result with a little use of camera filters

Material

  1. Graphite Pencil
  2. Black pen
  3. HVS sheet as image media
