A black and white sketch of a thatch rooftop small Village Drawn with a normal Hb pencil.
The structure represent an outsketch of a part of my village, here in Nigeria, southern area of Kaduna State.
In those days, buildings in the village are often dispersed. But despite the distance between the buildings, people are more United than in towns. In the village it is about the people and not the buildings. Everyone does things for the interest of the other.
Growing up as a young Village boy, life was filled with adventure and Creativity. We often gather around as young boys trying to create realities out of nature. For instance, we use sticks, mud, or batteries and sometimes wood to construct a car, house and many more.
I was always known as the most adventurous boy in the village, because most time I take the lead in climbing of trees, chasing after birds, hunting of rats and rabbit and also swimming. I was immersed in a world of wonder and excitement, where every day brought new discoveries and challenges.
Many of the Talents I picked up today, was because of the zeal to always want to discover new things and the push to be outstanding among others. Village life was very interesting and sweet. There is Abundant availability of resources. You can't be in the village and be lazy. There will always be something to do.
Indeed life in those small structural thatch roof buildings had so amazing and inspiring. And as I grew older, I always look back on those days as a defining moment in my childhood.
