Hello friends
Here is my new work of art. It's a drawing of a peregrine falcon (the fastest animal on earth)
I initially thought falcons were eagles🤦

Here are some interesting facts about the peregrine falcon:

  1. Fastest Animal on Earth: The peregrine falcon is the fastest animal, reaching speeds of over 240 mph (386 km/h) during its hunting dive, or "stoop."

  2. Global Distribution: They are found on every continent except Antarctica, inhabiting various environments from urban areas to mountains and coastal cliffs.

  3. Unique Hunting Technique: Peregrine falcons primarily hunt other birds, striking them mid-air with their powerful talons. Their keen eyesight helps them spot prey from great distances.

  4. Recovery from Endangerment: The species faced severe population declines in the mid-20th century due to DDT pesticide use. Conservation efforts, including banning DDT and captive breeding programs, have helped restore their numbers.

  5. Impressive Vision: Peregrine falcons have exceptional eyesight, up to eight times better than humans, allowing them to see prey from over a mile away.

  6. High Nesting Sites: They prefer high places for nesting, such as cliffs, skyscrapers, and tall bridges, often choosing ledges that give them a clear vantage point.

  7. Monogamous Birds: Peregrine falcons are typically monogamous, returning to the same nesting site year after year with the same partner.

  8. Strong Migration Habits: Some peregrine falcon populations are highly migratory, traveling over 15,000 miles (24,000 km) annually between their breeding and wintering grounds.

  9. Scientific Name Meaning: The species' scientific name, Falco peregrinus, means "wandering falcon," referencing its wide-ranging nature.

  10. Size and Appearance: Peregrine falcons are medium-sized birds of prey, with females being larger than males. They have a sleek, blue-gray back, a white throat, and a distinctive black "moustache" mark on their face.

I did this using pencil and colour ballpoint pens on cardboard paper
