A lot of people didn’t know but I’d been under the weather, for a good part of this week. I practically did nothing but lie in bed all day, groaning and wincing in pain. One of the worst weeks of my life, I’ll tell you that. I wondered why the medications I’d been taking weren’t working and then I got to know that for the troubling ailment affecting me, I wasn’t supposed to combine the medications for it with other drugs because it countered the whole effect of the medications. And that’s exactly what I was doing, taking vitamins and supplements.
So, I realized this yesterday and took the medications last night, hoping for the best. I feel a lot better this morning. Still got a bit of a cold, but otherwise fine. So, I cleared my head and started my attempt at creating my ideal date.
Now, I’ve got to thank @galenkp for suggesting that whole stick drawings in the first place because I’ve grown to like it. So, even though he didn’t specify that we draw stick figures, I just thought it was nice, especially since you can still convey your thoughts just as clearly with them.
I realized with dismay that I had used the beach theme already. To be honest, an ideal date would constitute something informal, probably lying on the mat, stargazing and surrounded by not-so-healthy, half-eaten snacks. But, thinking about it now, that could always be done later. If this were supposed to be the first, a semi-formal atmosphere is nice.
I know the fact that the waiter has a bowtie and I’m on heels cancel my attempts at being semi-formal but just get the storyline, yeah? So, my sweet, nerdy classmate, Jose, who I knew liked me, finally asked me out on a date. I kind of knew he liked me and I’m having mixed feelings about the whole thing but he was so sweet and shy asking, I couldn’t turn him down so I agree.
He's not sure what I like, so he chooses something formal. I make it a point as I walk into the expensive restaurant to politely tell him later on that it’s not my kind of setting. But for now, I’m set to enjoy what the evening holds.
As we’re drinking a little bit of white wine (sorry, I don’t know much about wines), I find out that he’s got a smart mouth. Really funny and witty too. I’m so surprised because I didn’t peg him as the guy that could give such excellent comebacks. I’m still giggling at his last joke when the waiter comes to ask what we’d like to have for dinner.
We make our orders and while waiting, Jose adds many more playful and smart quips to our conversation and as I wipe tears from my eyes for laughing too much, I tell him that he’d better not try this while eating so we don’t end up being rushed to the ER.
At the end of the day, it turns out to be a most awesome date. And when Jose asks, shyly now, if I’d like a repeat of this another time, I don’t hesitate to say, “Yeah, I would really like that.”
Okay, curtains close guys. I was enjoying writing this ideal date a little too much. I kept smiling like it was actually happening. So sad. Lol. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed the drawing and of course, the story and I look forward to your comments.
