Hello friends of Hive.
Today I come to share a work we did as a family, for the family.
The motivation is my mother-in-law. With the heat it's getting, the light going out and her health condition, she wanted to have the extension chair she had stored in the backyard fixed, and the day came.
My husband got motivated on Sunday. He looked for some material that my mother-in-law had in storage and we got down to work.
We started in the coolest place in the house, the patio. Besides the fact that the chair was very dirty, it was the best place to do the first part of the work.
I was telling my husband to cut all those strips to remove them more comfortably to the chair, but the truth is that no one has done a job like this, so it is preferable to unweave and see how it goes, to give us the idea at the time of placing the new material.
It wasn't a fun process, but hey, we did it. In this part of the work we had the help of the children, since they also wanted to help.
Once the material was removed, we cleaned the stiffeners and began to fill the space with blue tape (I don't know what material it is, but it is not the same one we removed).

We took a few breaks to rest a bit, since we were in a bit of an awkward position, but we ended up with all blue. It looks pretty and the kids excitedly wanting to try it and asking for one just like it for themselves, hahaha.
It is time to proceed to the next step. Place a white ribbon through the blue ones, weaving. This step I confess, felt lighter and I liked it. I did most of the strips myself, since my husband got it a little annoying for him.
To finish, the arms are missing, a piece of cabilla at the top and bottom. This is to be attached with blue ribbon.
Well we are done. It looks very nice. The litmus test, was for my husband to lay down to test the resistance (hahaha).
After that, we called my mother in law to see and test the chair. I must say her expression was one of joy, she liked how it looked, she got on to try the and was fascinated. Then she went and looked for a practical and comfortable place to put the chair. But before that, the kids also sat down to try the (hehehe), so beautiful.
I must say that it was not an easy job, and I don't know how long it took us. But working together is better and faster, that's support and teamwork.
I thank you for staying to read and watch. Greetings and blessings.
