I have had so much frustration over our high electric bill. Last month $257.93. The month before it was $133.73, which is a huge increase.
One thing that runs it up is our clothes dryer, it will not dry on one cycle, it takes 2 and sometimes 3 cycles to dry the clothes. We took the vent pipe off and clean it out but it was not clogged. There is something called a lint trap. My husband says if future people want to know how we lived, all they need to do is empty the lint trap on our dryers. The picture is what he found in ours. I think the little barbell-looking thing is one of my kid's tongue ring. The zip ties, the bent nail, and screws had to come from my husband's pocket. The yellow thing is a bead from a pompano rig. The Christmas lights puzzle me, I have no clue as to how they ended up in the dryer. I also do not know what the white or red thing is.
The floor under the dryer was wet, Mr. Google says this could be a bad seal. The seal was completely gone. My husband looked up the price of a new seal, 40 something dollars, he made one and it seems to work. He said the heating element looked good so I am hoping that the seal he made works.
After fixing the dryer, we went to the boat ramp and worked on my trailer. It took a lot of drilling and a few curse words but he did get new holes drilled and new bolts in it. It is fixed once again.
We came home and worked on my motor, it will now shift to neutral, sometimes, but sometime it will stay in forward. My husband thinks it is my shift cable, I hope he is right, but I heard something grind in my lower unit when it went out, which is a very bad thing.
