This is my post for #freewriters Monday prompt on the radio hosted by @mariannewest
I couldn't believe the time when I woke this morning, it was 7:20. I am usually up at 5:30 every morning. The funny thing is that I did not feel any more rested.
After having my coffee and morning duties, I went outside to my boat. Since I have not been fishing I wanted to run my engine so it does not freeze up.
When I walked up to the boat, I saw that the water separating fuel filter was wet on the outside. At first, I thought it might be dew but when I touched it and smelled my hand, I knew it was leaking gas.
Luckily we had a spare and it is an easy fix. So much for thinking that. My husband came out and he started taking the old filter off. When he tried to turn it, the bolts pulled out of the stern of my boat.
He put a clamp on it and told me to find some longer lag bolts. He wanted to put some crab traps back in the river and run his engine so he left and I turned on the radio. He likes it to be quiet when he is outside so I do not turn it on. He does not even like it if I turn it on when I am in his truck with him driving. Me, I love to listen to it doing everything but fishing, then I like it to be quiet.
I could not find the right size lag bolts, the right length ones were too fat to go through the holes, and the ones that fit the holes were too long and would go through the back of my transom. So I put a bunch of nuts on them and tighten them down, and it worked.
I wish that they would make these so that saltwater won't eat them up. In the past, my husband tried spraying one with galvanized spray paint but it still rusted.
My husband likes to feed the birds so I planted some of the bird seeds that he bought.
We have been getting bunch after bunch of bananas, we have been frying them with sugar and cinnamon and putting them in the freezer. They are short bananas, we have two types, the horse bananas, and lady's fingers.
These are the long bananas like you buy in the stores' We have not had them for very long so no bananas yet.
Also, the star fruit is getting ripe.
