In this Week 51 of the ZAPFic50 Friday, the prompt "lonely" brings to mind an occasion of something frightening happening. If you're alone or a loved one is alone, you worry for their safety.
Below is my story:
Distress signals broke the night's silence.
Seconds later, another series lingered on the waves of the wind.
Peldoni paused, searching the wail's direction.
Lightning pierced, then heavy rains followed.
The day's catch was minute compared to his brother's safety.
At the shoreline, he cried. No boat could survive that swell.
