It's time again for the ZAPFIC50 Monday challenge by @felt-buzz. This week's prompt "invisible" presented the opportunity to explore various ways in which a person, place, or item can be viewed as invisible in society's concept of importance. On the other hand, in my opinion, invisible can be categorized as an unspoken word, an unnoticed gesture, or an unseen connection between one or more people. I'd like to believe that my last interpretation is the most relevant. I hope you enjoy my interpretation of the prompt in the flash fiction story I wanted to share.
My story is below:
Matthew woke that frigid morning shivering. Pulling on the tattered coverlet, he heard his mom's cane banging against kitchen cabinets.
The familiar smell of coffee.
But tainted pork sizzling on the wood stove formed knots in his stomach as he choked back the urge to vomit.
He refused to complain.

Ha llegado de nuevo la hora del reto de los lunes de ZAPFIC50 de @felt-buzz. El tema de esta semana, "invisible", nos brinda la oportunidad de explorar las distintas formas en que una persona, un lugar o un objeto pueden considerarse invisibles en el concepto de importancia que tiene la sociedad. Por otra parte, en mi opinión, lo invisible puede ser una palabra no dicha, un gesto inadvertido o una conexión invisible entre una o más personas. Me gustaría creer que mi última interpretación es la más relevante. Espero que disfruten de mi interpretación del tema en la historia de ficción flash que quería compartir.
A continuación mi historia.
El amor fluye en ambos sentidos
Matthew se despertó temblando aquella gélida mañana. Tirando de la colcha hecha jirones, oyó el bastón de su madre golpeando contra los armarios de la cocina.
El olor familiar del café.
Pero la carne de cerdo contaminada que chisporroteaba en la cocina de leña le hizo nudos en el estómago y se ahogó las ganas de vomitar.
Se negó a quejarse.
