Because the holiday we celebrate as Christmas on December 25th of each year is about the birth of Jesus, God's Son, the day and season should be about how He came to provide humanity hope, joy and love for each other. The original message has not changed.

What has changed I feel is loss of this true meaning. The time when family would gather to attend Church, stories were read about the birth of Jesus.

Instead, festive celebrations of the holiday has emerged.

This is especially true of Christmas. Within the past few decades, commercializing the holiday has pushed the true meaning and sentiment to the background. Immediately after the summer season as ended in the U.S., retails deliver holiday items as early as September.

Black Friday, Cyber Monday, one-day, end of the year, warehouse, car dealer, furniture, Holiday Collector's Barbie (each year) and other retail highlighting gifts aimed at luring society into their retail outlets to get the "deal of the year" before Christmas day.

My approach to this mixed media project was to locate an alien version of a human face staring into the starry night's milky way searching for the meaning of Christmas. Is it the tree with bright bulbs and sparkling lights below that I see everywhere I look, she wonders?

Several of the images I utilized were my pure fractals created in Apophysis, the fractal rendering program. The final images a lovely night background sky and landscape and a haunting female image.

To blend the scene, I utilize my design program Canva. Below are my procedures:

To a blank, white canvas, I added the night starry background image.

Resized background image to fill canvas. Added pure wreath fractal and duplicated it to fill bottom landscape.

Added alien woman image.

Resized alien woman, repositioned, colorized, then duplicated sections to fill canvas.

Added embellishments to the woman's head.

Added the blue fractal, duplicated it for both sides of the woman's head.

Added the white rainbow Christmas tree. Repositioned it, and completed project.
