It was my fault that I chose to sleep super late last night. It was Saturday movie night. I just didn't want my one and only relaxing night to end just yet. LOL! Wrong move on my part as I know that the catification will be happening early Sunday morning. I just didn't know exactly how early.
I woke up to a text message from the cat shelves staff that he's already outside our door on the 4th floor. Oh boy! I panicked a bit but managed to be wide awake in a jiffy. I went out to open the door to welcome them in. They were nowhere to be found. LOL! I thought it was another one of those freaky days. I tried to reply but it seemed my phone load was all used up. Thankfully I have a second number on my mobile that I used that instead. Later, I was able to load up my first number so I could use it once again. (It's a prepaid number. For me, it's cheaper to use.) Well, they finally realized they were knocking on the third floor unit (we're on the fourth floor). Good thing it's mostly just warehouses in the building so that door they knocked on was just a storeroom with no one staying in.
After a few hours and a morning snack, the guys were done installing all the shelves that I ordered. I added two more which were extra costs but they completed the overall look. I have two more hammock sets that I ordered and planned to place by the window in the main living area. That one's waiting to be completed (guinea pig cage / storage cabinet project). Let's break down some of the part of the catified wall.
The bottom has stairs so even the kittens can use the wall. It leads up to a big wall scratch post. Our cats love to scratch so much. I thought a huge one would look cool.
Right next to the scratch post is a platform that doubles as a scratch ledge too. That's one of the cat shelves that I added to my original orders. It looked pretty bare after all were installed that I had that part filled in.
Right next to the platform is a two-layer ledge as well. It can be used to jump into the lower box. It also connects to a three-step stairs, in case the kittens would also want to get to the top. The stairs were also another one that was not in my original orders. It's a good thing they brought some extras.
That leads to the second and third layers of the cat wall. Hammock and box on the second layer. Box and bridge on the third layer.
A closer look at the cat hammock. I ordered two more of these that are waiting to be installed once the other project is complete. I did watch closely how they installed these shelves so I could learn a technique or two.
Lastly, here's a closer look at the cat box. I thought the designs were pretty cute. They have four designs but these two appealed to me more.
The thing I liked about this supplier is that these are mostly locally sourced materials. Plus, they are also handmade. I do believe in supporting local industries more than ever, since the plandemic did affect a lot of the livelihood of the people locally.
I'm glad they also worked fast. They were out and about before noon. I can only imagine how long it would take me to install these by myself. I agreed to pay a bit extra to let the pros do the work. That extra $25 (converted from local currency) is well worth it in my opinion. There may be a part two in this catification project. Stay tuned. For now, it's good nighty from Manila.
