(Edited with Fotoplay)
Hey guys π
I hope you enjoyed weekend! π
As I'm busy in preparation of my first stall, most of the time, what I'm thinking is what to make and what to skip for it. Because I have so much in my mind but it's the end of the semester and schedule is getting tight with assignments and presentations. But offcourse nothing can stop me from what I want to doπ.
Okay Gajra is a predominantly a South Asian thing. It's made with Roses, Jasmine, or other colorful flowers. So today I wanted to try crocheting one.
I went through some tutorials, and found this more helpful: Inspiration
Materials Needed
- Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle
- Green Yarn π
- White Yarn π€
- Red Yarn β₯οΈ
I was so satisfied by the green and red colours, they seemed really fine to me. (I will my other work with this green yarn tomorrow)
Pattern
- crochet a 102 chains
- Half double crochet over the back of chain
- Change colour, chain 2 and 4 double crochets
- Slip stitch the loop into first dc
- Chain 2, and slip stitch into the same stitch
- Slip stitch into the next stitch and repeat into all 100 chains
- Divide the chains according to number colour variations.
- Make a knot with green colour at the end of stem and and pass the thread through spaces with the help of tapestry needle.
- Stretch the thread and it it will gove the final shape to gajra.
- For making a place to tie, chain 30 on borh sides and slip stitch on back of those chains.
Process
Here I performed step 1 and 2. At first it was looking quite long. But I just went on according to tutorial.
Here I switched the colours. I divided chains into 35 white flowers, then 30 of red flowers and 35 white again.
Here I was almost done with red part, and now it looked small to me.
But when I performed step 8, it gave it good shape and it also got some length.
After step 10 gajra was ready for a photoshoot π
Okay that was all for this creative-sunday.
See you soon
Bye bye π
