Hello #Hive friends! I've been in "MACRO MODE" since I cleaned my camera sensor in the past few days and I had the idea to test the results of the cleaning by making macros.

In photos 01 and 02 you can see details in the parts of a passiflora plant flowers. As you can see, I have chosen to give an "abstract" sense to these photographs and thus take advantage of the charming shapes that this flower has.
En las fotos 01 y 02 pueden observar detalles en las partes de una de una flor de planta passiflora. Como pueden observar, he optado por dar un sentido "abstracto" a estas fotografías y así aprovechar las encantadoras formas que esta flor tiene.

Cactaceae abound in our gardens. My mother and wife grow cacti and succulents in small pots and some species even grow as epiphytes on the bark of trees in the yard. Making cactus pots and taking advantage of their natural abstraction is also charming from my point of view.
Las cactaceas abundan en nuestros jardines. Mi madre y mi esposa cultivan cactus y suculentas en pequeñas macetas e incluso algunas especies crecen como epifitas en las cortezas de los árboles del patio. Hacer macros de cactus y aprovechar su natural abstracción es también algo encantador desde mi punto de vista.

As soon as I saw that nice entrance to a colony of small stingless bees (Tetragonisca angustula) I thought in our beloved #Hive blockchain ecosystem... The #Hive is everywhere, even in my garden! 😊🐝

I think I chose to take these macros because I loved the brightness of the day. It turns out that the sky was totally covered by whitish clouds, so it provides a kind of "flat" light that seems to flood everything. The time is close to midday, which encourages this type of light, ideal for this type of photo. For example, in photo 05, these beautiful orchid flowers of the genus Oncidium were captured in natural light and using a fairly wide aperture (F/7.1)... The result is a lovely out-of-focus background and the flowers are still well detailed and illuminated.
Me parece que opté por hacer estos macros porque la luminosidad del día me encantó. Resulta que el cielo estaba totalmente cubierto de nubes blanquecinas, entonces eso provee un tipo de luz "plano" que parece inundar todo. La hora es cercana al mediodía, eso fomenta este tipo de luminosidad ideal para hacer este tipo de fotos. Por ejemplo, en la foto 05, estas hermosas flores de orquídeas del genero Oncidium las capturé con luz natural y usando una apertura bastante amplia (F/7.1)... El resultado es un fondo encantadoramente desenfocado y unas flores aún bien detalladas e iluminadas.

Yes, there is no doubt, cacti and macro photography go very well together. Taking advantage of shapes, spines and radial growth forms are things that can make me shoot the same plant several times without analysing whether such a number of photos is necessary.
Sí, es indudable, los cactus y la fotografía macro se la llevan muy bien. Aprovechar las formas, las espinas y las formas de crecimiento radial, son cosas que pueden hacerme disparar varias veces a una misma planta sin analizar si acaso es necesario tal número de fotos.
I didn't use a tripod for these photos (I don't even know where the hell my old tripod is stored, I'll have to look), so this photo 06 was taken freehand like all the others in this post, but using the camera's built-in flash set at -1.3 EV is enough to photograph this cactus at 1/320s even if it's in a relatively dark area.
Yo no usé trípode para estas fotos (ni siquiera sé donde demonios está guardado mi viejo trípode, tendré que buscar), así que esta foto 06 fue tomada a mano alzada como todas en este post, pero usar el flash incorporado de la cámara graduado a -1.3 EV es suficiente para fotografiar este cactus a 1/320s aún estando en un área relativamente obscura.

Spending a few hours crouching, sitting, standing, crawling and sometimes lying at ground level in our garden taking macro photographs, is something that can help us exercise our skills when it comes to photography in manual mode. Photos 07 and 08 correspond to the flowers of a beautiful succulent plant that grows in a very clear place in my garden, where there are even white walls around it, which provide light almost like a studio... So it's ideal for doing some "poetry" with the camera!, as in photo 07 where the orange flowers have turned into beautiful fluffy pompoms very similar to the flower of a dandelion plant.
Pasar algunas horas agachado, sentado, parado, arrastrándose y a veces tumbado al ras del suelo en nuestro jardín haciendo macro fotografías, es algo que puede servirnos para ejercitar nuestras habilidades en cuando a fotografía en modo manual se refiere. Las fotos 07 y 08 corresponden a las flores de una linda planta suculenta que crece en un lugar muy claro de mi jardín, en donde incluso hay paredes blancas alrededor, las cuales brindan luz casi como de estudio... ¡Entonces es ideal para hacer algo de "poesía" con la cámara!, como en la foto 07 en donde las flores naranja se han convertido en hermosos pompones de pelusas muy similares a la flor de una planta de diente de león.

Leptotes cassius is a lovely butterfly, it is frankly tiny and very nervous, so photographing an individual of this species with a relatively decent result is always difficult to achieve but very rewarding. My old Tokina ATX-PRO 100mm f/2.8 d MACRO lens is a perfect tool for this type of photography, and despite the weight (490 grams) brightness compensates for any discomfort you may suffer when using it.
La Leptotes cassius es una mariposa encantadora, es francamente diminuta y muy nerviosa, así que fotografiar un individuo de esta especie con un resultado relativamente decente, siempre es algo difícil de lograr pero muy gratificante. Mi viejo lente Tokina ATX-PRO 100mm f/2.8 d MACRO es una herramienta perfecta para este tipo de fotos, aún a pesar de su peso (540 grs) su luminosidad compensa cualquier incomodidad que se pueda sufrir al usarlo.

After a while immersed in my garden, I literally "abstract" myself and I have the sensation of being part of the whole miniature world that I am trying to photograph. The F/7.1 aperture on my old lens may not be the "sweet spot" (it seems to be more like F/9) but at F/7.1 I feel very comfortable taking some abstract and bright photos, plus I like how it blurs the backgrounds dramatically with this setting.
Después de un rato inmerso en mi jardín, literalmente me "abstraigo" y tengo la sensación de fromar parte de todo ese mundo miniatura que estoy intentando fotografiar. La apertura F/7.1 en mi viejo lente quizás no sea su "punto dulce" (me parece que es más bien F/9) pero con F/7.1 me siento muy cómodo haciendo algunas fotos abstractas y luminosas, además me gusta como desenfoca los fondos de forma dramática con este ajuste.

Heavens, a pleasant surprise!... Our old Jabuticaba tree (Plinia cauliflora) is full of beautiful little flowers on its branches. This always happens with the first downpours of the rainy season... And this means that in a few weeks I will be able to eat its delicious fruits! 😋 (Photo 12)
¡Cielos, una grata sorpresa!... Nuestro viejo árbol de Jabuticaba (Plinia cauliflora) está repleto de hermosas florecillas en sus ramas. Esto sucede siempre con los primeros aguaceros de la estación lluviosa... ¡Y esto quiere decir que en unas cuantas semanas podré comer sus deliciosas frutas! 😋 (Foto 12)

Like I said, I wasn't using a tripod for these macro shots, so taking this shot (13) at 1/125s in manual mode, with an unstabilized lens and practically squatting in my garden, is something that felt pretty good... Maybe I'm not in as bad shape as I thought!...hee hee... The "pulse" seems to be still there! 😂
Tal como dije, no estuve usando trípode para estas macro fotografías, así que hacer esta foto (13) a 1/125s en modo manual, con un lente sin estabilizar y prácticamente de cuclillas en mi jardín, es algo que me hca sentir bastante bien... ¡Quizás no estoy en tan mal estado como pensaba!... je je je... ¡El "pulso" parece estar allí aún! 😂

As we get more days with rain, the number of flowers and insects in the garden will increase dramatically... Then the "macro season" is about to officially start!... Small technical note: All the photos are captured using my NIKON D7000 camera, the captures are made in RAW format and then these files are processed using Adobe Camera Raw until achieving almost all the desired adjustments and appearance and then exported as JPG... Some secondary changes such as depth, straightening, minimal cropping and adding watermarks were made using PhotoScape 3.6.1.
Pequeña nota técnica: Todas las fotos son capturadas usando mi cámara NIKON D7000, las capturas se hacen en formato RAW y luego estos archivos son procesados usando Adobe Camera Raw hasta lograr la casi totalidad de ajustes y apariencia deseados y luego ser exportados como JPG... Algunos cambios secundarios como profundidad, enderezamiento, recortes mínimos y agregado de marcas de agua, fueron realizados usando PhotoScape 3.6.1.
