Hello Everyone,
Today I created a new 3D printable design for water cloning with mason jars.
Let's check this thing out.
It's a simple insert that I created with Tinkercad, a browser based CAD software.
The browser based CAD program is very easy to use, and things like this can be made by utilizing basic shapes, some as solid, some as holes.
The slit from the center is for easy removal of the clipping after it has developed roots. Oftentimes clippings are rooted in bottles with limiting cap holes, and this will sometimes cause damage to the newly developed roots. With my insert this will never happen because it is slightly flexible and so it is easy to offset that gap for removal of larger stems.
This thing prints in forty five minutes on my printer and uses ten grams of filament, which is awesome because it doesn't take much material and I don't have to wait very long for an insert.
I got super lucky and my first prototype design was a perfect fit, and also the hole and slit are quite the perfect size for clippings.
Look at the top glow green. This filament is super cool because it glows in the dark.
It brings out the kid in me and I like to have fun with it.
See what I mean... This kind of behavior used to get me into trouble when I was a kid in school.
All those mean teachers should leave those kids alone so they can be creative and make cool stuff like this ;D
Anyway let me get back on track here...
I'm super proud of this design because it's a creative solution to clone plants. These can be used with other types of plants too, not just cannabis!
I like other methods of cloning too, but the water method is surely the easiest and most practical when it's difficult to clone via the other methods because of obstacles/lack of proper tools/equipment.
Right now I have a total of six clippings. Three are in this 3D printed container, and the other three are in those mason jars. My goal is to get three rooted clippings, so I have cut twice as many as I am aiming for in the event that some of these fail to increase my odds of success.
This Crack Mack cannabis plant at day fifty eight is poised for monstrous growth.
I'm hopeful that she will get as big as I want her to be by the end of the first week of July. This gives me a couple of weeks of vegetative growth still, and there will be minimal defoliation or training work done in these next couple of weeks. I may apply some more LST's here and there to direct growth where I want it, but defoliation will not occur for the next two weeks.
That will do it for this update.
What do you all think of my new mason jar cloning insert?
I'd love to read your thoughts in the comment section!
Thank you for stopping by!
Have a good day! -@futuremind
