Hello Hivers 💕💘,

For the past so many years now it has been the culture of the west Africa people most especially here in Nigeria to cultivate crops that are drawing in nature which will give more nutrients to the body and also serve so many purposes in which the community and the nation at large we benefit from it. We have the appetizer to the stomach vegetable green vegetable which is absolutely common likewise the African Spinach green vegetable. When you look at the African spinach it's differ from one another although it is called African spinach as a group name.

  • Take for instance when you look at the African spinach you see in the United States of America is different from the one we have here in Nigeria although it is called the African spinach as a group name and also in some other part of the world it is African spinach. The seed is different just like in the case of the ancient days. This is what I mean the African spinach that is being seen in some years ago like in the 1990 please much more different from the ones we have at the moment simply because we have what is called the class hybrid seed. I'm going to show us this type of seed as soon as it reach my hand for this purpose. But here we go with the two type of African spinach I have in my own farm. I have the red African spinach and the green African spinach. I have some pictures to show below to give us the differences and how you can I identify them.

When you have different types of season just like the one you have here in Nigeria the rain season and the dry season we are faced with a lot of different types of pest and diseases. And this ranges from place to place likewise from state to state. The ones I face a lot is the large Larvae, eggs and Insects. Which will lead to a lot of destruction within a short period of time. I have been in this shoes whereby within a interval of 2 days they bombard the Green vegetable field and they ate a lot resulting to the damage of the farm. This may not be so in other countries but yes experience is the best teacher. I took the pictures so that so many people will see how it looks like and what you can do to eradicate them from your farm.

  • These are the ones that are not tampered with but if the case not taken it will be affected and it will spread out to those that are not eaten up at all. The damages continue day by day until they finishes the whole farmland.

  • It may comes in different shape size and form depending on the type of soil you use and the type of nutrients absorbed by the green African spinach. In some cases the leaves will be more wider than the usual, also these are the hybrid species of the African spinach. It very much different from the ones from the previous years.

These are the ones that are damaged by the eggs, larvae and insects which later grow up to mature to form different types of insects with side effects on planted crop.

  • The rate at which they spread is extremely fast and it affect a lot of green vegetables not only green vegetables alone but planted crops.

  • This was when I was feeding my rabbit with the partial affected African spinach vegetable. It is very useful for your animals but for human it is not useful at all. But most times you can be creative using the partially affected plants to feed your animals what you need to do is to double check very well before handling it over to your pet animal or else it's may come with different types of negative effect.

  • This is the red African spinach which is not a common type of green vegetable at all with a lot of researches by discovered that it is not easily seen in the local MARKET. Unless you have it in your own farm and cultivate it to produce more for yourself and also for the community.
