Hello everyone! This is actually my second post today. I wanted to post this soon because I am afraid I might forget to post this. So I did my future log for this year of 2022 and thought of sharing some of the pictures and process.
What is the Future Log
The future log is a yearly layout done in the bullet journal. It is a list of all the important events that are going to happen in the entire year. Many people like to do a fancy layout but I kept mine simple in a minimalist style. That way it doesn't feel too cluttered up as I have to include events happening throughout the year.
My Bujo Layout
By the way, bujo is short for bullet journal. It is a common word used by avid bullet journalers.
First of all, I drew some vertical lines to divide the page into 6 sections for the first 6 months. I did the same for the next two pages as well. This is how my bullet journal pages look like by the way. Most people use a dotted journal but I use grid because I find it to be more convenient as my sentences will climb a hill if I write without proper lines. I have also included a washi tape set from where I will pick one out to use for each month title. Can you guess which tape is it?
These are the washi tapes I used for the top of the months. I tried not to repeat using the same pattern twice.
I cut strips of washi tapes for each month. This is how it looks for the first six months of the year. I also picked this particular washi tape I placed in the middle for the first letter of the month on the sides. This washi tape is full of circles in different colours so I thought it is great for such labels.
This is how the last six months of the year look like. I repeated one pattern. Can you spot which one is it?
I wanted to add quotes/mantras for each month on the patterned washi tape. For january, I chose 'Everything is Figuradable' as the quote or mantra of the month.
I finished writing the calendar for each month. This is just a comparison of my 2021 future log with my 2022 future log. I like how the current one looks cleaner when it comes to the writing.
Next, I wrote out all the important events for the year. These include birthdays, festivals, prayers and public holidays. I colour coded them. I used green for public holidays, blue for prayers, purple for festivals and red for birthdays.
This is the Hindu calendar I used to mark all the prayer days and auspicious religious events.
Well here comes a bummer. I thought the quotes for each month will be too long and appear clumsy. I changed my mind to just write the names of the months. So I I tested the writing of the month names using a calligraphy marker. I didn't like how it appeared.
So I redid it for January and wrote for all the months in regular black gel pen and it looked so much better.
Phases of the Moon
I added a few extra things. I like to check the moon phases and placements from time to time especially full moons. This is because I am a werewolf so I need to be aware of when I'll be turning. LOL I am just kidding. It is just a fun thing I thought of adding. So, I added those at the very bottom of the page. The things I included were the dates of full moon, new moon, lunar eclipse and the signs they will be in.
This is the layout for July to December 2022.
Here's a closer look of the moon phases and signs. I used gold pen for full moon, silver pen for new moon and orange glitter pen for eclipse. I noticed something interesting. There will be two new moon in the same month for May. Isn't that amazing? Also they're both falling in Taurus which is my sun sign while eclipse is in Scorpio which is my birth moon sign! May is also my birth month so I guess that is why they are in those relatable signs as I was born during the full moon.
I picked this bitmoji because I don't think I will get a better chance to use this picture. Thank you for dropping by and I hope that you have a great day ahead!
