There's nothing like a corset to give you that perfect hourglass figure.🥰
A corset is a tightly fitting laced or stiffened outer bodice worned by women to shape the body.
Materials:
- fabric of your choice
- interfacing
- Lining fabric
- bra cup
First step: pattern making
This is the most important part of the process.
I draped this pattern, but unfortunately I can't document those steps here.
Second step: cut the fabric
Firstly, cut the skirt of the dress which is in an A-line shape, then the upper bodice which will be cut with the made pattern.
The next is to cut the lining and interfacing, then gum the interfacing to the lining and outer bodice with an iron
Third step: Sew the Outer Fabric to the Lining Fabric
Join the side seam of the lower bodice sewing the lining and fabric together to make a skirt
step four: join the channels
Now, get ready for a lot of sewing!, this step takes a while.it takes care making sure the front and back fabrics line up as precisely as possible.
The next is the lining, the lining and fabrics should be done separately.
It is important to iron as you sew so that you don’t get lumps after sewing the channels
Corset is not hard to cut and sew, just that it’s so tricky – it’s just long, tedious, and surprisingly physically demanding.
