Finding my rhytm back

After a well-deserved vacation, I'm trying to slowly get back into the swing of things. That of course also means that I am slowly trying to find a rhythm in blogging again.
Now I have to say, that's really not easy. You would expect that after winning the lottery everything has suddenly become 100x easier. And that I feel great now that the financial stress of the last 8 years has fallen off my shoulders. Unfortunately I have to disappoint you here.

Vague physical discomforts

The human psyche apparently works very strangely. I was already familiar with it in the past. But didn't expect to get such a backlash now. So instead of fully enjoying a holiday together, the enjoyment was unfortunately pushed to the background because I suddenly got all sorts of vague physical discomforts. These physical aches and pains, which in fact didn't even matter that much, made me suddenly super anxious that I would have a serious illness.

Let go of the negative thoughts

You can imagine that this is not a pleasant feeling, and that has ensured that the real enjoyment did not work out during my partner's holiday. Last Monday I went to the doctor, and he assured me that in his opinion there is no reason to worry. Now I have to get myself to the point where I really dare to trust that, and let go of the negative thoughts.
To help with that process, I'm distracting myself as much as possible, and I've set myself a PC time restriction. Because PC time and negative thoughts don't mix well with me. The Internet is a source of information, but it can also drive you crazy if you're in negative thoughts. Unfortunately, that is what happens all too easily to me.

Trip to a "Wood Attic"

Well, that aside. We did have a lot of fun together! And one of the things we did is a trip to a "Wood Attic"
My partner is constantly expanding his woodturning hobby. But to be able to make the more special objects, you also need special wood. And that special wood is readily available in the Netherlands, but it is of course expensive. We wouldn't have even considered going there before, but then, on that memorable Friday in July, my life was turned upside down financially... Then that trip could suddenly be planned.

Rainy day

Unfortunately, it was a very rainy day and we didn't stop anywhere else in Arnhem. We would have liked to do that at first ... but the rain that pattered on our car while driving quickly changed our mind about it. So we spent our time looking for the special types of wood that my partner wanted, and then we drove back home right after we were ready with the wood attic. And of course, home is where the dogs are waiting for us.

Next day out in the next blog!

That was one day in the first week of our vacation. A day with a nice 'harvest' of wood that we can use to make special projects. Not exactly an outing that many people think of as relaxation in a holiday. But for us this was pure relaxation, and a gift even that it was now possible.
Of course, that's not all we did on this holiday!

But, new outing...new blog! See you soon!

The woodworking area sounds interesting. Getting back in the swing of things post vacation takes a lot of energy.

Good post!

Thanks! Yes, it's hard to get back in the swing of things. But, it's best to push through because if I don't ... it's not getting any better.

And yes, the woodworking area is very interesting. I will make more blogs about that soon enough.
