It hasn't even been a year here on the Gubba Homestead and I just pulled my first ever garden harvest! I had started a raised garden bed at my old house but ended up moving before any harvest could be done on the tomatoes I had planted there.

I planted these cloves of garlic early in my move over the winter. I honestly didn't expect them to really grow. The raised garden beds at the new homestead were neglected for some time. Filled with weeds and the soil deprived of nutrients from all the rubbish that was growing in them. I did what I could to restore the value back to the land and was pleasantly surprised when I saw these sprout up!

The weeds still continue to sprout in these raised beds but I'm removing them as best I can. I have big plans for growing a serious garden next year as this year it really got away from me with all the work that had to be done to the land and the house.

Pickling has also become a new favorite of mine. Eggs are at the top of that list and taste amazing! With 15 chickens now on the homestead making eggs plentiful lol Of course a cute picture of my puppy out in the sun (it's a little hot here) and some wild flowers which my two bee hives are loving.

Come with me on my homestead journey. Follow my wins, fails (learning experiences) and teaching you how to become self sufficient.

Nice harvest...I will try planting garlic for next season..Tbh, I have not tried that thanks.

I thought that was a Kombucha for a second 😅 Your puppy seems to be having a blast!

lol, It's a little hot for her. She misses the cold weather.

Awww you are looking cute while holding these garlic in your hands , your puppy is also looking cute with his barking mood. The weed flower is looking fresh, I hope next summer you will decorate your garden in a good way by growing lots of vegetables, ornamental and flowering plants

Making a plan for next year. I want a huge garden here on the homestead!

I've watched a certain guy on YouTube on how he planted garlic and the process wasn't easy. It takes months growing them and then another couple of days drying them. I mean, as much as I want to do the same to get my own harvest (because I like planting different kinds of plants), I think I'll give garlic planting a pass for now.

Oh by the way, I found some similar guy here in Hive that had the same format as how you do to your images.. like how they are stacked and doesn't have any spaces in between. There's nothing wrong with it though.

I believe the formatting is that way because its made from https://liketu.com

Oh, is it another front end website were Hive is integrated. (was it vice versa?) Anyway, is it kind of the same with Ecency and PeakD? I was using the default website for Hive before.. I think it was Hive.blog, but now I'm using Ecency since I like the interface.

Also, can't you put some markdown styling in liketu.com?

  • Edit: I found out it was some kind of Dapps.. though I don't understand much of them.

It's more of an Instagram style app for Hive. You upload images and write in the post body, there is markdown there I believe. Pictures can be edited, captioned and tagged within the dapp.

I think it's the format of Liketu but maybe it's something they will address since it seems new? Yes, I planted this garlic in winter. They take some time but I LOVE garlic and use it in almost everything.
