Hello my loving Asean Hive community,
Welcome back to my foodie new blog. How are you guys? Is everything okay in the new year? And new jobs will be expanded in the new year? I am trying to improve the work I am doing this year. What kind of food do you like? I love traditional food. Of the traditional foods, I like the traditional foods of the area where I live more. This is because Shan traditional food is mostly made with vegetables and does not use much oil.
Today I will introduce a traditional seasonal food from my region. Today I will tell you about Shan traditional dessert. It is called Sticky Rice with Sesame Seeds. This Sticky Rice Slice has 2 flavors and 2 colors in my area. The color is white and black, and the taste varies depending on the rice used. Black Glutinous Rice can be used for black, and for white only Sticky Rice can be used. Made with Black Glutinous Rice, Sticky Rice Slice tastes sweeter.
The Sticky Rice Slice I bought today is white in color and sweet inside. Sticky Rice Slice is usually sold wrapped in banana leaf as shown in the picture.
Today, I thought I would grill the Sticky Rice Slices without frying them, so I lighted the fire first.
Then I put an iron plate on the stove and put Sticky Rice Slice on it. I don't need to oil the Sticky Rice Slice. After a few minutes, I switched the Sticky Rice Slice to the other side. Grill until both surfaces of the Sticky Rice Slice turn yellow. When the surface of the Sticky Rice Slice starts to turn yellow and puff up, you can remove it from the heat.
Sticky Rice Slice was very hard before heating, but now the surface is crispy and the inside is very soft. The sweets inside also melt. The sweet inside of that Sticky Rice Slice is made by grinding sesame and sugarcane. Sticky Rice Slice is only available in winter where I live. The pictures I took today are listed above. Is there any food similar to Sticky Rice Slice in your area? Thank you so much for reading my post to the end.
