You can put all the veggies you like, add your spices in, fill with water to cover the ingredients and set it low or high.. the crockpot or other slow cooker is a good kitchen machine that cooks the veggies and meat intact and still all ingredients are tender including the vegetables. This is a machine to be used if you do not want to stay long hours in the kitchen, just toss everything and cook for at lease 4 hours until the meat is tender. This cooking machine is low in energy consumption. The one I used has 210 Watt.
I can leave this while cooking the Soup for about 4 hours and could do any other chores in the flat. Such a good invention, isn´t it? Below are the ingredients I used, you can combine any other veggies or meat you like.. What I have here was beef. There is no rule as to what you might like to add in your soup, It´s your taste preference.
Beef Soup Ingredients:
beef bones
300 g beef meat
carrots
potatoes
sweet peas,
baby spinach
onions
garlic
a bit of ginger, peeled, either crushed or sliced
turnips
zucchini
salt
pepper
1 bit ofsoy sauce
1 Beef cube
Procedures:
Wash the vegetables and simply cut according to bite size, cut the meat and wash the pieces including the bones .. toss all in the pot, add water and the spices. Cook for about 4 hours under high heat. Check from time to time and see if the meat is tender. Adjust the spices, once the taste is according to your taste prference, serve hot. Can also be served with baguette.
